Radical Imagination. Mike Spade, Founder & Creative Director. A people's art is the genesis of their freedom. Claudia Jones.

I'm Mike Spade. I run Radical Imagination, a cultural technology studio in Queens. We make VR rooms, searchable archives and games out of historical records, and we show our sources.

Recent work: Du Bois Does Data at the Oculus in the World Trade Center, with CUNY's Public Interest Technology Lab, for Juneteenth (June 19 to 21, 2026). Legacy Lectures, a six-session course on Marcus Garvey with the Black Star Archive, fall 2026.

During the day I lead teaching and learning at The Knowledge House in the Bronx.
