Alarm: doses due at the same moment share one alarm screen - #26
Bug: with two medications due at the same time, each alarm replaced the previous one's alarm screen. Only the later dose was shown, and the other never got Taken or Snooze. Nothing else reminded you about it until you opened the app.
Fix:
AlarmService keeps every dose that is ringing.
The notification and the alarm screen list them all.
Taken or Snooze records each listed dose.
A dose that comes due while the screen is open keeps ringing after the screen closes.
Tested on the emulator (Android 16): two meds at 22:05, app in the background.
Both alarms fired.
The notification read "Time for Testmed B - 2 drops, Testmed A - 1 pill".
The alarm screen listed both.
One tap on Taken stopped the ringing and marked both taken on Today.
Known limit: the ringing list is kept in memory. If Android kills the app mid-ring, only the latest dose comes back.
Each dose's alarm replaced the previous one's screen, so with two meds due at
08:00 only the later one was shown and the other got no Taken/Snooze at all.
The service now keeps every dose that's ringing; the screen lists them and
Taken/Snooze records each. A dose that comes due while the screen is open
keeps ringing after it closes.

The alarm service now groups simultaneously ringing doses in one notification. The alarm screen displays each dose and applies Taken or Snooze to every dose in the group.

Summary
Track doses and build grouped notifications android/app/src/main/kotlin/dev/susiee/dosekeeper/AlarmService.kt
The service tracks ringing doses by ID and builds notifications containing arrays of dose IDs, names, and dosages. Stopping can remove selected doses while others continue ringing. The fallback notification uses the list-based builder.
Display and handle each dose android/app/src/main/kotlin/dev/susiee/dosekeeper/AlarmActivity.kt, android/app/src/main/kotlin/dev/susiee/dosekeeper/AlarmService.kt, AGENTS.md
The screen displays a single dose with its dosage or multiple dose labels on separate lines. Taken and Snooze update each dose using one shared timestamp, and the service receives the handled dose IDs. AGENTS.md records emulator testing and the Android 12 fallback’s device-testing status.

Grouped alarms display more medication information at once on the lock screen. This broadens an existing privacy exposure, but does not introduce a new externally callable alarm interface. Group recovery after interruption remains limited.
Retained concerns
Low · security · observed: The grouped notification and lock-screen screen now display medication names and dosages for the accumulated ringing-dose set rather than only the latest dose. Public notification visibility and display over the lock screen remain enabled, broadening sensitive information available to local viewers. The public-display channel predates this PR; the introduced change is its disclosure breadth, subject to device notification and display behavior.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The identified disclosure expansion concerns names and dosages in this installation's active ringing-dose set. The supported exposure is local viewing of the notification or lock-screen interface, not a newly exported medication-data API or access to the full medication database.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
inferred — A nearby viewer can learn multiple ringing medications from the grouped public display where previously the current notification showed one. Exploitation requires visibility of the device's alarm surface, not intent injection. Existing single-dose disclosure and device-level notification controls limit the incremental risk.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — AlarmActivity, AlarmReceiver, and AlarmService remain non-exported. The notification targets AlarmActivity explicitly through an immutable PendingIntent. These retained controls constrain ordinary external applications from supplying arbitrary grouped IDs or invoking the alarm outcome flow directly.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — During a live service process, repeated arrivals use dose-ID map entries, and acknowledgement removes only handled IDs before refreshing any remaining group. The service-start-failure path still posts a single-dose notification under the shared notification ID, so grouped failure containment does not extend to that fallback path.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Consider an optional privacy mode that retains an audible alarm but uses generic locked-screen content and reveals medication details after authentication. Apply the choice consistently to both notification text and the full-screen alarm interface.
