About WindowsGSH

WindowsGSH is a Windows desktop application for managing dedicated game servers from one place.

It is designed for people who host one or more servers and want an easier way to handle installation, updates, configuration, monitoring, backups, schedules, crash recovery, networking, and remote administration.

The main application contains the shared management platform, while support for individual games is provided through separate modules maintained across this organisation.

Main features

  • Install, update, verify, start, stop, and restart dedicated servers
  • View live console output and send supported server commands
  • Monitor server status, players, CPU usage, memory usage, and operation history
  • Configure schedules, backups, automated updates, and crash recovery
  • Manage Windows Firewall rules and optional UPnP port mappings
  • Use optional browser-based remote management
  • Use optional Discord status panels, alerts, and server controls
  • Import compatible servers previously managed by WindowsGSM
  • Add support for more games through the WindowsGSH module system

  • Configuration fields and configuration-file handling
  • Server queries and player information
  • RCON support
  • Required ports
  • Backup locations

Current status

WindowsGSH is under active development and is currently available as beta software.

Beta testers are welcome, especially people already hosting dedicated servers who can help by:

  • Trying WindowsGSH with real server installations
  • Reporting bugs and stability problems
  • Testing updates, backups, schedules, queries, and RCON
  • Suggesting usability improvements
  • Requesting support for additional games

Contributing

Contributions, bug reports, module improvements, documentation changes, and testing feedback are welcome.

Before contributing, please review the documentation and repository-specific contribution guidance.

When reporting an issue, include as much useful information as possible:

  • WindowsGSH version
  • Game and module version
  • Windows version
  • Relevant logs or screenshots
  • Clear reproduction steps
  • Whether the problem happens consistently

Please report security vulnerabilities privately rather than opening a public issue.

Licensing

The WindowsGSH application is source-available and is not distributed under an OSI-approved open-source licence.

Its source may be viewed, studied, and privately modified. Redistribution, rebranding, publication of modified builds, and commercial use require prior written permission.

Individual game-server modules are generally released separately under the MIT Licence. Always check the licence included in the relevant module repository.
