feat(i18n): land core TranslationTerm Scheme B - #522
Host per-app TranslationTerm list/form under web (Settings → {app} → Translations); modules self-register app folders, web hosts core/web; remove TerminologyEditor and the old base terminology route.
Add PO export via MetaModule.Search with route-scoped module cache (components/terminology/), outline hover tokens, and breadcrumb trails that include intermediate pathless folders.
Pin e2e Chromium to a desktop viewport (1280×900) so headless runs do not fall under the 768px mobile sidebar breakpoint (closed Sheet hides company/user menu chrome).
Test plan
./choysum test typecheck --all
./choysum test unit --all (rebuild ./choysum first if binary is stale vs @choysum/generated CSS)
./choysum test e2e auth / web / partner after e2e viewport fix
Adopt Scheme B translation ownership and provide a unified per-application terminology management experience under Settings.
New Features:
Add per-application TranslationTerm list and form pages under Settings, with module-scoped PO export.
Store core translations in a dedicated core TranslationTerm table and expose core terminology through the standard translation UI.
Bug Fixes:
Prevent duplicate menu-to-route relationships and remove stale links during UI resource updates.
Pin headless Chromium e2e tests to a desktop viewport to preserve desktop application chrome.
Enhancements:
Replace the legacy TerminologyEditor and framework translation fan-out with Scheme B ownership and routing.
Improve menu registration, breadcrumb trails, translation metadata, edit tracking, and terminology cache invalidation across applications.
Documentation:
Update module and core i18n documentation for Scheme B translation ownership and Settings-based terminology routing.
Tests:
Update and expand coverage for core translation storage, imports, injection, menu registration, breadcrumbs, UI resource validation, and terminology routes.
Chores:
Remove the global TranslationTerm logical grant pack and default terminology editing to sys.admin.

Allow core application in terminology bridge calls
Headless Chrome without an explicit size often lands under the 768px
sidebar breakpoint, so shell chrome mounts in a closed Sheet and
company/user menu triggers are missing from the DOM.
Implements core TranslationTerm Scheme B and replaces the legacy terminology editor with standard per-application web List/Form pages, while adding PO export, module-aware Settings menus, richer breadcrumbs, safer UI-resource relation handling, and a fixed desktop e2e viewport.

Flow diagram for app-specific Settings menu registration
Moves TranslationTerm editing to standard per-application List/Form pages hosted by web, with module self-registration and PO export.
Adds Settings → application → Translations menus for core/web and installed domain applications.
Registers concrete per-application list routes plus a shared detail route using route-scoped model stores.
Replaces the retired TerminologyEditor and base terminology route with standard views, sys.admin permissions, edit invalidation, and post-save catalog reload.
Adds lazy module selection and PO download through MetaModule.Search and the i18n endpoint.
Adopts TranslationTerm Scheme B, giving core its own TranslationTerm table and eliminating framework-term fan-out into host application stores.
Creates and migrates core_translation_term, imports core PO files only into the core store, and deletes terms from the correct application store during module removal.
Updates gateway discovery, registry lookup, cache warming, invalidation, packaged-term upsert, and generated model injection to treat core as a normal TranslationTerm host.
Removes host-application probing and framework import fan-out logic while updating coverage for core catalog reads and cache behavior.
Marks packaged terms as overrides when their Value is edited online and localizes TranslationTerm field labels.
Makes headless browser e2e execution consistently use the desktop shell layout.
Pins Chromium to a 1280×900 viewport so tests do not activate the mobile sidebar breakpoint and hide shell menu controls.

Core terminology now uses a dedicated store, and the web application adds application-specific terminology pages, forms, lists, and export controls. The changes also add Settings navigation, folder-aware breadcrumbs, pending menu registration, and menu-to-route relation validation.
Changes: Core terminology storage and import
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Core terminology import and lookup internal/i18n/{bridge,gateway,import,models,store}/*, internal/module/lifecycle/i18n*
Core terms are imported into core_translation_term and resolved through the core store. Core terms are no longer copied to host application tables. Core table migration, warming, invalidation, and deletion now include the core application.
Core TranslationTerm model and ownership internal/module/artifact/build/injectappmodel/*, internal/module/lifecycle/{bundles.go,modulemanager.go}, modules/core/service/orm/model/*
Core modules can generate and own TranslationTerm models. Editing a packaged translation value marks its source as override. Core models can return translations and import packaged terms.
Core terminology defaults and labels .agents/skills/module-initdata/SKILL.md, modules/README.md, modules/auth/data/bootstrap.json, modules/core/i18n/*
Platform terms use core.TranslationTerm and default to sys.admin. The terminology editor role's TranslationTerm grants are removed. Core documentation and catalogs describe the core table and model field labels.
Terminology administration UI
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Terminology routes and page stores modules/web/web/{appSetup.ts,route/*,pages/*}, modules/{auth,base,meta,partner,sandbox}/web/route/*
The web app registers authenticated, sys.admin-restricted list and detail routes. New pages bind application-specific TranslationTerm stores. The former Terminology Editor page and base route are removed.
Term views and PO export modules/web/web/{components/terminology/*,views/TranslationTerm*}, modules/web/i18n/*
The list displays translation terms and links rows to detail pages. The form allows editing Value and reloads terminology after a save. The export menu searches installed modules and downloads a PO file for a selected module.
Settings menus and terminology catalogs modules/web/web/menu/*, modules/{auth,base,meta,partner,sandbox}/web/menu/*, modules/{auth,base,meta,partner,sandbox}/i18n/*
The web and application Settings menus add Translations entries restricted to sys.admin. Translation catalogs add terminology labels and update source references.
Hierarchical breadcrumb navigation
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Folder ancestors in breadcrumb trails modules/web/web/{components/layout/ChoyShellBreadcrumb.vue,composables/useBreadcrumb.ts,stores/breadcrumbStore/*}
Breadcrumb trails include intermediate folders between app and menu crumbs. Root-prefix trimming preserves the folder hierarchy, and pathless folder crumbs use menu navigation.
Menu registration

Editing a packaged translation can silently stay marked as packaged if the preliminary lookup fails. A later PO import can then overwrite the user's edit. Partial bulk edits can lose protection in the same way. Fix the failed-lookup path before merging. The hook and breadcrumb problems raised earlier appear fixed.

The route table hardcodes one list route per known application (core, auth, base, web, meta, partner, document, task, audit, message, sandbox). Any newly installed module that registers a Settings → {app} → Translations menu will have a menu entry pointing at /web/terminology/{app} with no matching route, producing a blank/404 page. The PR description says modules self-register app folders, but routes do not self-register. Confidence: high for third-party/new modules.
application falls back to route.params.application and then to a regex over route.path, and is interpolated into createStoreByModel(${app}.TranslationTerm). The detail route web/terminology/:application/:id is reachable with an arbitrary application segment, so a user can force store creation for any app name (and the list page likewise via the path regex). Validate against the known/installed application set before creating the store.
Same issue as the list page: route.params.application is used directly to build ${app}.TranslationTerm without checking it is a real application. A crafted URL like /web/terminology/foo/1 triggers store creation for foo.TranslationTerm; depending on registry behavior this either throws an unhandled error or creates an unintended store.
modulesLoaded is only reset when application changes. If a module is installed/uninstalled while the page is open, reopening the dropdown reuses the cached module list and the PO export can target a module that no longer exists (or miss a new one). Consider invalidating on menu open or on module-change events.
truncateTo returns null for pathless folder crumbs without truncating the stack, but navigateTo in useBreadcrumb.ts then calls menuApi.navigateTo(menuId) and returns. For a pathless folder that has no navigable leaf (e.g. a folder whose only child is the current leaf), navigateTo may be a no-op, leaving the user on the current page with no feedback. Verify menuApi.navigateTo handles pathless folders by resolving to a descendant leaf.
}consttargetItem=breadcrumbStack.value[index];// App / pathless folder crumbs navigate via menuApi; do not truncate here.if(targetItem.kind==='app'||(targetItem.kind==='folder'&&!targetItem.path)){returnnull;}
The new route tests only assert core and auth list routes and the detail route. There is no test that every app referenced by a Settings menu has a matching list route, which is exactly the failure mode of the hardcoded route table. Add a test cross-checking menu paths against terminologyRoutes.
test('terminology list routes: concrete per-app paths for UI_VAL_006 menu match',()=>{constcoreList=terminologyRoutes.find((r)=>r.name==='TranslationTermList_core')asany;expect(coreList).toBeTruthy();expect(coreList.path).toBe('web/terminology/core');expect(coreList.meta?.resourceId).toBe('web.route.terminology_core_list');expect(coreList.meta?.pageTitleText).toEqual(translationsTitle);expect(coreList.meta?.resource?.defaultRoles).toEqual(['sys.admin']);expect(coreList.meta?.terminologyApplication).toBe('core');constauthList=terminologyRoutes.find((r)=>r.name==='TranslationTermList_auth')asany;expect(authList?.path).toBe('web/terminology/auth');});test('terminology detail route: application + id, admin defaultRoles',()=>{constroute=terminologyRoutes.find((r)=>r.name==='TranslationTermDetail')asany;expect(route).toBeTruthy();expect(route.path).toBe('web/terminology/:application/:id');expect(route.meta?.resourceId).toBe('web.route.terminology_detail');expect(route.meta?.resource?.defaultRoles).toEqual(['sys.admin']);expect(route.meta?.resource?.actions).toEqual(['web.action.translation_term_edit']);});
Ensure transitive descendants queued under deferred parent menus are also flushed. After registering each deferred child with addMenuInternal, invoke this.flushPendingChildren(child.id) so grandchild items queued prior to ancestor registration are processed.
private flushPendingChildren(parentId: string): void {
const pending = this.pendingByParent.get(parentId);
if (!pending || pending.length === 0) return;
this.pendingByParent.delete(parentId);
for (const child of pending) {
this.addMenuInternal(parentId, child);
+ if (child.id) {+ this.flushPendingChildren(child.id);+ }
}
}
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 7
__
Why: flushPendingChildren calls addMenuInternal, which itself calls flushPendingChildren(menu.id), so grandchildren are already flushed transitively. The suggestion is therefore redundant, but it does highlight a real ordering concern; the existing recursion already covers it, so impact is low.
Medium
Retain prop reactivity without premature destructuring
Avoid destructuring props directly into local constants in <script setup>, as it breaks Vue reactivity when props like recordId, viewMode, or showHeader change during navigation. Bind props.recordId, props.viewMode, and props.showHeader directly in the template and script.
Why: Destructuring props into plain constants (recordId, viewMode, showHeader) does lose reactivity, but the parent TranslationTerm.vue re-keys the component on application, so these values are effectively static per mount. Correct observation with limited practical impact.
Low
Guard menu-route table deletion before migration
Avoid issuing a database delete query if the meta_ui_resource_menu_route table has not yet been migrated. Check session.Migrator().HasTable before running Delete so builds on fresh or uninitialized environments do not fail with a missing table error.
// Clear any leftover MENU→ROUTE rows for these routes (including soft-deleted
// ghosts or links from menus outside this module_id set) before insert.
if len(routeIDsToReplace) > 0 {
- if result := b.runtimeScope.Session().- Unscoped().- Where("route_ui_resource_id IN ?", routeIDsToReplace).- Delete(&meta.UiResourceMenuRoute{}); result.Error != nil {- return result.Error+ session := b.runtimeScope.Session()+ if session.Migrator().HasTable((&meta.UiResourceMenuRoute{}).TableName()) {+ if result := session.+ Unscoped().+ Where("route_ui_resource_id IN ?", routeIDsToReplace).+ Delete(&meta.UiResourceMenuRoute{}); result.Error != nil {+ return result.Error+ }
}
}
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: The Delete on meta.UiResourceMenuRoute runs unconditionally when routeIDsToReplace is non-empty. In practice the table is migrated before this code path, so the missing-table failure is speculative, but a HasTable guard is a cheap hardening. Moderate value, not a clear bug.
Low
Possible issue
Ensure module loading spinner always resets
Reset loadingModules in the outer finally block when awaiting loadInflight or catching unexpected errors. If loadInflight is awaited concurrently by another caller, loadingModules can stay stuck on true if an error occurs.
Why: loadingModules is already reset inside the inner finally when application.value === app, so the spinner normally clears. The suggestion adds a defensive reset for the concurrent-await path; a minor robustness improvement rather than a real bug.
Extract the shared "menu-navigated crumb" predicate.
The same check, kind === 'app' || (kind === 'folder' && !path), now appears in three places:
ChoyShellBreadcrumb.vue line 61.
This file.
navigateToBreadcrumb in breadcrumbStore/index.ts lines 363-365.
The three branches must agree. If they diverge, a crumb can render as a button but then do nothing, or can truncate the trail when it should not. Put the predicate in breadcrumb_helpers.ts and reuse it in all three places.

URL.revokeObjectURL(url) runs synchronously right after a.click(), which can cancel the download in some browsers. Revoke it on the next tick (or in a setTimeout) so the browser has time to start the download.
Why: Revoking the object URL synchronously right after a.click() can indeed cancel downloads in some browsers; deferring with setTimeout is a well-known, low-risk fix. The improved_code accurately reflects the change, though the impact is minor and browser-dependent.

Scope relation cleanup to foreign menus
This Unscoped() delete removes MENU→ROUTE links for these routes belonging to other modules' menus, which can silently break their navigation. Restrict the cleanup to rows whose menu is not part of the current module's resource set (or to soft-deleted ghosts only) so foreign live links are preserved.
if len(routeIDsToReplace) > 0 {
- if result := b.runtimeScope.Session().+ q := b.runtimeScope.Session().

return result.Error
}
}
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: The Unscoped() delete with route_ui_resource_id IN ? does remove MENU→ROUTE links for routes regardless of which menu owns them, which could delete foreign live links. However, the PR's own test (TestReplaceUiResourceRelationsReplacesAndDedupesRows) explicitly seeds a "foreign menu" link on route_1 and expects it cleared, so this behavior appears intentional to satisfy the unique constraint. The suggestion is a plausible hardening but may contradict the PR's deliberate design.

Possible issue
Purge legacy core rows on uninstall
When a non-core module is uninstalled, its own rows are deleted, but any Module=core rows previously fanned out into that app's table (Scheme A leftovers) are never purged, so stale platform terms can shadow core_translation_term. Consider also deleting Module=core rows from the host app table during uninstall.
if application == frameworkModuleName {
if moduleName != frameworkModuleName {
return nil
}
} else if moduleName == frameworkModuleName {
return nil
}
+ // Purge legacy Scheme A fan-out rows (Module=core) from host app tables.+ if application != frameworkModuleName {+ if err := store.RegistryFor(runtimeScope).StoreFor(application).InvalidateModule(frameworkModuleName); err != nil {+ return err+ }+ }
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 3
__
Why: The suggestion addresses a real migration concern (Scheme A leftovers), but the improved_code is inaccurate: it calls InvalidateModule (a cache operation) rather than deleting rows, and InvalidateModule likely returns no error, so the if err := ...; err != nil pattern is wrong. It does not actually purge DB rows as the summary claims.
Low
Maintainability
Avoid leaking orphaned pending menus
Pending children are queued forever if their parent never registers (e.g. web.menu.settings absent when only a domain module is installed), leaking memory and hiding the misconfiguration. Consider dropping/clearing pendingByParent on removeMenu/reset and logging a warning when a parent is still missing at export time.
private flushPendingChildren(parentId: string): void {
const pending = this.pendingByParent.get(parentId);
if (!pending || pending.length === 0) return;
this.pendingByParent.delete(parentId);
for (const child of pending) {
this.addMenuInternal(parentId, child);
}
}
+ /** Drop queued children whose parent was removed, so they cannot leak. */+ private dropPendingChildren(parentId: string): void {+ this.pendingByParent.delete(parentId);+ }+
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 3
__
Why: The concern about orphaned pending children is valid, but the improved_code only adds an unused dropPendingChildren helper that is never called, so it does not actually fix the leak. The suggestion is incomplete and offers marginal value.
Handle callers that explicitly supply Source in values (such as programmatic syncs or re-imports). If a caller explicitly provides values.Source, it should not be unconditionally overwritten with SOURCE_OVERRIDE.
function applyOverrideSourceWhenValueEdited(
values: Record<string, unknown>,
existingRows: Array<{ Value?: unknown; Source?: unknown }> = []
): void {
if (!Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call(values, 'Value')) {
+ return;+ }+ if (Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call(values, 'Source') && existingRows.length > 0) {
return;
}
const next = String(values.Value ?? '');
let shouldOverride = false;
for (const row of existingRows) {
if (normalizeSource(row.Source as string | null | undefined) !== SOURCE_PACKAGED) {
continue;
}
if (next !== String(row.Value ?? '')) {
shouldOverride = true;
break;
}
}
if (!shouldOverride && existingRows.length === 0) {
// No prior row loaded: only flip when the patch itself claims packaged.
if (normalizeSource(values.Source as string | null | undefined) === SOURCE_PACKAGED) {
shouldOverride = true;
}
}
if (shouldOverride) {
values.Source = SOURCE_OVERRIDE;
}
}
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 6
__
Why: When programmatic callers explicitly provide Source alongside Value in values (for example, to revert an override or reset to packaged), unconditional overriding to SOURCE_OVERRIDE prevents explicit updates. Checking if values.Source was explicitly supplied makes the helper more robust.
Low

Revoke stale terminology editor grants on upgrade
This PR removes the rma_terminology_editor_tt_logical / rfr_terminology_editor_tt_logical grants but keeps the terminology.editor role. On upgrade, existing installs may retain the old grants (init data is not necessarily pruned), so the role could still edit platform terms despite the new sys.admin-only policy. Consider explicitly revoking/removing those stale grants during upgrade, or drop the role entirely if it is unused.
Why: The PR removes the TranslationTerm logical grants from terminology.editor but keeps the role. The concern about stale grants persisting on upgrade is plausible and security-relevant, though it depends on init-data pruning behavior not shown in the diff. The improved_code is identical to existing_code, so it offers no concrete fix.
Low
Document PO endpoint authz and required params
The PO download endpoint now takes application and module query params; document that module must be validated server-side against the caller's authorized apps (and that application/module are required) to avoid an authz bypass where an admin of one app downloads another app's PO. Also note the expected error responses for invalid params.
Optional admin PO download: `GET /web/i18n/po?lang=&application=&module=` (terminology List page).
+`application` and `module` are required; the server validates that the caller may read the+requested app/module and returns 400/403 for invalid or unauthorized values.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: The suggestion only asks to document server-side validation of application/module params; it does not verify the actual endpoint implementation. It is a reasonable hardening note but low impact and speculative since the endpoint code is not in the diff.
Low
Possible bug
Check deduplication key before verifying duplicates
Check seenMenuRoutes[key] before evaluating menuByRouteName conflicts. If duplicate menu declarations or multiple entries with identical menu and route IDs are encountered in decls.orderedIDs, the current code will compare a menu against itself or fail if prevMenu != id checks run out of sequence.
routeName := routeNames[0]
+ key := id + "/" + routeName+ if seenMenuRoutes[key] {+ continue+ }
if prevMenu, exists := menuByRouteName[routeName]; exists && prevMenu != id {
return nil, nil, newUiRuleError(

id,
fmt.Sprintf("menus %q and %q both map to route %q (path %q); route_ui_resource_id must be unique", prevMenu, id, routeName, path),
"keep a single MENU leaf per route path (e.g. only web.menu.terminology_core for /web/terminology/core)",
)
}
- key := id + "/" + routeName- if seenMenuRoutes[key] {- continue- }
seenMenuRoutes[key] = true
menuByRouteName[routeName] = id
menuRoutes = append(menuRoutes, uiResourceMenuRouteRef{MenuName: id, RouteName: routeName})
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: Moving the seenMenuRoutes[key] deduplication check before the menuByRouteName conflict check is cleaner and avoids unnecessary validation when the exact same menu-route link was already processed. Note however that prevMenu != id already prevents a menu from conflicting with itself.

Add a note on the upgrade path (cleanup/dedup of stale per-app Module=core rows) so upgrades don't leave duplicate or stale translations.
- **Scheme B (runtime):** platform terms live in `core_translation_term` /
`core.TranslationTerm`. On install/upgrade of the `core` module, Go imports
`modules/core/i18n/*.po` into that table only (no fan-out to host apps).
Gateway dials `core.TranslationTerm/GetTranslations` alongside each business
app; host app tables hold only that app's module terms.
+- **Upgrade from Scheme A:** existing `{app}_translation_term` rows with+ `Module=core` are stale; the upgrade path must remove them (or ignore them)+ so lookups don't resolve duplicate/outdated platform terms.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: The Scheme A→B migration concern is legitimate and relevant to the PR's runtime storage change, but the suggestion only adds documentation rather than addressing the actual cleanup logic. Moderate maintainability value.

Verify placeholder and zh_CN entry for new title
The new Translations: %s entry uses %s as a placeholder; ensure the runtime formatter is positional (not printf-style with multiple args) and that the corresponding zh_CN.po entry exists, otherwise the List page title falls back to English. Verify the msgctxt matches the extraction context used by terminology_list_page.ts.
Why: This is a verification request rather than a concrete fix, and the improved_code is identical to existing_code. The zh_CN.po counterpart is not shown in the diff, so the concern is speculative and low impact.

Do not match page paths against folder crumbs.
If an intermediate folder has a path, clicking its breadcrumb navigates to that path. The menu store resolves the folder to a descendant leaf, but this lookup matches the folder crumb and truncates the leaf from the stack. Subsequent navigation to that leaf does not rebuild it because currentMenuId still matches. Restrict page-path matching so it cannot truncate a folder from the menu root. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Handle a root prefix that fills the stack.
If an app has eight intermediate folders, the root prefix has 10 items. The next page push sets keepTail to zero, so slice(-keepTail) copies the entire stack and duplicates the root. Later pushes continue to grow the stack beyond MAX_STACK. Handle zero and negative tail budgets and define how to trim an oversized root.

Restore Module-only UpdateById without Browse; Browse only when Value edits
need override Source. Skip multi-row shared Source flips and honor explicit
Source. Seed hook CHOYSUM_* before bundle eval, gate meta_model_data cleanup
on grant deletes, and harden breadcrumb/menu/docs coverage.
When Browse fails and the patch has no Module, module stays empty and the cache invalidation below is silently skipped, leaving a stale catalog after a successful update. Also, applyOverrideSourceWhenValueEdited is called with an empty row list in that case, so a Value edit on a packaged term can be persisted without flipping Source to override. Consider falling back to the payload/out module and skipping the override flip when the prior row could not be read.
const patch = { ...(values as Record<string, unknown>) };
let module = String(patch.Module ?? '').trim();
let existingRow: { Module?: unknown; Value?: unknown; Source?: unknown } | null = null;
// Browse when Module is missing (cache invalidation) or Value is edited (override Source).
const needsBrowse = !module || Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call(patch, 'Value');
if (needsBrowse) {
try {
existingRow = (await self.Browse(id, ['Module', 'Value', 'Source'])) as {
Module?: unknown;
Value?: unknown;
Source?: unknown;
};
if (!module) {
module = String(existingRow?.Module ?? '').trim();
}
} catch {
/* Browse may fail if row gone; still attempt update */
}
}
+ if (existingRow) {+ applyOverrideSourceWhenValueEdited(patch, [existingRow]);+ }+ const out = await super.UpdateById<C, F>(id, patch as Partial<Updateable<RowOf<C>>>, returnFields, options);+ if (!module) {+ module = String((out as Record<string, unknown>)?.Module ?? '').trim();+ }
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 6
__
Why: The observation is valid: if Browse throws and patch.Module is absent, module stays empty and invalidateTerminologyModules is skipped, leaving a stale cache. The fallback to out.Module is a reasonable hardening. However, the suggestion also changes the override-flip behavior (skipping it when no prior row), which overlaps with suggestion 2 and slightly alters semantics; still a legitimate correctness improvement.
Low
Avoid override flip without prior row
The existingRows.length === 0 branch flips Source to override for a brand-new row whose patch merely defaults to packaged, which contradicts the "one-way override of packaged terms" contract and can mislabel freshly created terms. Restrict the flip to the case where a prior packaged row was actually observed.
const next = String(values.Value ?? '');
let shouldOverride = false;
for (const row of existingRows) {
if (normalizeSource(row.Source as string | null | undefined) !== SOURCE_PACKAGED) {
continue;
}
if (next !== String(row.Value ?? '')) {
shouldOverride = true;
break;
}
}
- if (!shouldOverride && existingRows.length === 0) {- // No prior row loaded: only flip when the patch itself claims packaged.- if (normalizeSource(values.Source as string | null | undefined) === SOURCE_PACKAGED) {- shouldOverride = true;- }- }
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: The existingRows.length === 0 branch does flip Source to override when the patch claims packaged, which is questionable for a fresh insert path. But this branch is only reached via Update/UpdateById (not create), and the test noExisting explicitly asserts this behavior, so it appears intentional. The suggestion is plausible but may contradict the PR's designed contract; moderate score.

Allow module list retry after failure
On the error path modulesLoaded is set to true, so a transient Search failure permanently disables retry for that application until it changes. Only mark modules as loaded on success, and reset loadingModules unconditionally in finally.
Why: Correct observation: on the error path modulesLoaded is set to true, so a transient Search failure prevents retry until the application changes. The proposed fix (only set modulesLoaded on success, reset loadingModules unconditionally) is accurate and improves resilience. Minor UX/robustness issue, not critical.
Low
Always purge obsolete grant mappings
The meta_model_data cleanup is skipped whenever a grant delete fails, so the obsolete xml_ids survive and the hook will keep retrying on every upgrade. Since the mapping rows are the source of the stale grants, run the mapping cleanup regardless (it is idempotent) and only log the grant-delete failures.
- let grantDeletesOk = true;
for (const [index, sql] of statements.entries()) {
const isMappingCleanup = index === statements.length - 1;
- if (isMappingCleanup && !grantDeletesOk) break;
try {
await db.execute(sql, '[]');
} catch (err) {
- if (!isMappingCleanup) grantDeletesOk = false;- console.warn('[auth] obsolete terminology.editor grant cleanup failed', err);+ if (!isMappingCleanup) {+ console.warn('[auth] obsolete terminology.editor grant cleanup failed', err);+ } else {+ console.warn('[auth] obsolete terminology.editor mapping cleanup failed', err);+ }
}
}
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: The suggestion is reasonable: skipping meta_model_data cleanup when a grant delete fails means stale xml_ids persist and the hook retries each upgrade. Running the idempotent mapping cleanup regardless is defensible. However, the PR's test skips mapping cleanup when a grant delete fails explicitly asserts the current behavior, so this is a design choice rather than a clear bug; moderate score.
Low
Disable inert terminology editor role
The terminology.editor role shell is now seeded with no grants at all (its RMA/RFR were removed), so any user assigned this role gets zero TranslationTerm access while the role still looks functional. Either drop the role seed entirely or keep it clearly inert (e.g. IsActive: false) so admins don't assign a dead role.
Why: The role shell terminology.editor is now seeded without any RMA/RFR grants, so it is effectively inert. Setting IsActive: false is a reasonable hardening to prevent admins from assigning a dead role, though the description already signals it is reserved. Moderate maintainability value, not a correctness bug.
Low
Make Scheme A cleanup a real migration
The README documents that stale Scheme A rows must be deleted or ignored, but this is only prose — without an actual migration/cleanup step (or a lookup filter excluding Module=core from host app tables) duplicate/outdated platform terms will still resolve. Make the cleanup a concrete, tested upgrade path rather than a documentation note.
- **Upgrade from Scheme A:** existing `{app}_translation_term` rows with
`Module=core` are stale under Scheme B (platform catalog is `core` only).
- Upgrade cleanup should delete or ignore those rows so lookups do not resolve+ The `core` upgrade migration deletes these rows (and the gateway lookup+ excludes `Module=core` from host app tables) so lookups cannot resolve
duplicate/outdated platform terms from host app tables.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: The suggestion correctly notes that the README only documents cleanup as prose without a concrete migration. However, this is a documentation file and the actual migration code is not part of this diff, so the suggestion is speculative and asks to verify/ensure behavior rather than fixing a concrete defect.
Low
Security
Harden PO download authorization checks
The endpoint now takes application and module from the client and relies on server-side authorization; ensure the handler validates both against the caller's readable apps/modules (not just one) and rejects path traversal in module before building the PO file path. Add a test covering an unauthorized application/module combination returning 403.
Optional admin PO download: `GET /web/i18n/po?lang=&application=&module=` (terminology List page).
`application` and `module` are required; the server validates that the caller may
-read the requested app/module and returns 400/403 for invalid or unauthorized values.+read the requested app/module (both checked, `module` sanitized against traversal)+and returns 400/403 for invalid or unauthorized values.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: The suggestion raises a legitimate security concern (path traversal in module, validating both params), but it targets a README and asks to "ensure" server-side behavior that is not shown in this diff. It is a verification-style request rather than a concrete fix, so it is capped low.
Low
Maintainability
Avoid translating module identifiers
The core and web module names are now extracted as translatable msgids, which will churn the catalog on every module rename and produce untranslated entries. Prefer rendering module names as plain data (not _t) so they don't enter the PO catalog.
Why: The existing_code and improved_code are identical, so no actual change is proposed. The concern about translating module identifiers is minor maintainability, and the fix would belong in menus.ts, not the PO file. Low impact.

Disable search limit when querying installed modules
metaModuleStore.Search uses default pagination limits (typically 20-80 rows), which can truncate installed modules in larger applications. Pass limit: 0 in the Search options to ensure all installed modules for the application are retrieved.

Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5

Why: If Search applies a default pagination limit, installed modules could be truncated, causing the export dropdown to miss modules. This is a plausible correctness concern for larger apps, though it depends on the default limit behavior of Search. The improved_code accurately adds limit: 0.

Enforce Scheme A row cleanup on upgrade
The README describes the Scheme A → B migration as a "should", but stale {app}_translation_term rows with Module=core will still be dialed by the gateway alongside core.TranslationTerm, producing duplicate/outdated platform terms. Make the cleanup an explicit, tested upgrade step (or have the gateway skip Module=core from host apps) and add a regression test covering an upgraded app with legacy rows.
- **Upgrade from Scheme A:** existing `{app}_translation_term` rows with
`Module=core` are stale under Scheme B (platform catalog is `core` only).
- Upgrade cleanup should delete or ignore those rows so lookups do not resolve- duplicate/outdated platform terms from host app tables.+ The upgrade path MUST delete those rows (or the gateway MUST skip+ `Module=core` from host app tables) so lookups do not resolve+ duplicate/outdated platform terms; covered by an upgrade regression test.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: The README documents a real migration risk (stale Module=core rows in host app tables causing duplicate/outdated terms). Strengthening the wording to a MUST and adding a regression test is reasonable, but this is a documentation-only change and the actual cleanup logic is not part of this diff, so impact is moderate.

Preserve existing module properties when mirroring
Check that appRoot[module] is set or preserve existing properties if already defined. If globalThis[app][module] had pre-existing properties before this decorator ran, directly assigning appRoot[module] = moduleRoot can overwrite them, or if appRoot[module] was already an object, its contents should be merged into moduleRoot.
Why: The concern is speculative: ensureRecordSlot already returns the existing slot, and the mirror assignment is intentional per the PR comment. The suggested Object.assign merge could actually reintroduce stale state, so the fix is not clearly correct.

Guard store lookup before querying modules
Ensure createStoreByModel failure or missing store factory is handled gracefully and does not leave unhandled rejections or unreset state. When createStoreByModel('meta.MetaModule') returns undefined or throws (such as when the store factory is not yet registered or in minimal test scopes), the catch block runs, but adding an explicit check for metaModuleStore?.Search prevents runtime type errors.

Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5

Pass window-size flag to headless Chrome
Add --window-size=1280,900 as a command-line flag alongside chromedp.WindowSize. In headless Chrome mode, chromedp.WindowSize relies on emulation/viewport resizing via CDP after startup, which can be bypassed or delayed during initial page load, whereas --window-size enforces the initial window dimensions upon process startup.
chromedp.Flag("disable-breakpad", true),
// Desktop viewport: SidebarProvider treats max-width 768px as mobile and
// mounts the rail in a closed Sheet, so company-switch / user-menu

Why: Adding chromedp.Flag("window-size", ...) alongside chromedp.WindowSize is a plausible hardening for headless e2e viewport issues, but it is speculative and not clearly required by the PR. The improved_code correctly reflects the change, but the impact is marginal and unverified.

Deactivate grant-less terminology role
The terminology.editor role is now seeded with no RoleMethodAccess/RoleFieldRule grants, so it is a dead role that can be assigned but grants nothing. Either drop the role entirely or keep it but document/verify that no UI surfaces it as assignable, otherwise admins may assign it expecting edit access.
Why: The observation is valid: the PR removes the RoleMethodAccess/RoleFieldRule grants for terminology.editor, leaving a role that grants nothing. However, the PR intentionally keeps it as a reserved shell (per the new description), so setting IsActive: false is a design decision rather than a clear bug fix, and the suggestion is speculative about UI exposure.

Verify module identifier msgids are complete
The new menu labels core, web, partner, and sandbox are module identifiers used as display text; translating them as identity strings is fine, but they should be marked #, fuzzy-free and kept in sync with the base.pot entries (which only add base). Verify every module that registers a Settings folder also ships its identifier msgid, otherwise the menu falls back to the raw id.
Why: This is a verification request rather than a concrete fix, and the improved_code is identical to existing_code. The concern about missing module identifier msgids is plausible but low-impact and speculative.
- Delete host Module=core terms on install/upgrade with a regression test
- Cover hooks resolveScripts cached module-entry return for Codecov 100%
- Document PO registry validation, guard MetaModule Search, set Chrome window-size
Browse failures are swallowed by the surrounding try/catch, so a transient DB error on a legitimate Value edit now hard-fails the save. Why: This is a verification request about limit: 0 semantics rather than a concrete fix, and the improved_code is unchanged from existing_code. The prior code already relied on limit: 0 for Module, so the risk is low.
Low
Security
Verify PO endpoint input validation
The doc claims the PO endpoint rejects unknown apps/modules and path-like values with 400/403, but this PR only touches catalogs. Confirm the handler actually validates application/module against the registry and rejects ../absolute paths before merging, otherwise the documented security guarantee is unverified.
Optional admin PO download: `GET /web/i18n/po?lang=&application=&module=` (terminology List page).
`application` and `module` are required; the server checks both against the
installed-module registry (rejects unknown apps, modules outside the app, and
path-like values such as `../../etc`), and returns 400/403 for invalid or
-unauthorized values.+unauthorized values. Covered by handler tests for unknown app, cross-app module,+and path traversal inputs.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: This is a "please verify" request about a security guarantee documented in the README, but the handler code is not part of this PR diff. It only asks to confirm behavior and add a doc note, offering limited concrete value.
Low
Possible issue
Harden stale-row cleanup migration
The Scheme A→B migration relies on host-module install/upgrade deleting stale {app}_translation_term rows with Module=core. This is a destructive data migration; ensure it is idempotent and runs before the gateway starts dialing core.TranslationTerm, and add a regression test asserting no module=core rows remain in host tables.
- **Upgrade from Scheme A:** existing `{app}_translation_term` rows with
`Module=core` are stale under Scheme B (platform catalog is `core` only).
- Host-module install/upgrade MUST delete those rows (and `Registry.Lookup` for- `module=core` always reads `core_translation_term`); covered by lifecycle- import regression tests.+ Host-module install/upgrade MUST delete those rows idempotently before the+ gateway dials `core.TranslationTerm` (and `Registry.Lookup` for `module=core`+ always reads `core_translation_term`); covered by lifecycle import regression+ tests asserting no `module=core` rows remain in host tables.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: The suggestion asks to ensure idempotency and ordering of a destructive migration, but the actual migration code is not in this PR diff (only the README). It is a verification request with modest impact and cannot be validated against the shown changes.
Low
Maintainability
Decouple export menu from meta model
The export menu queries meta.MetaModule directly from the web module, which couples web to meta's model and will fail when meta is not installed. Consider sourcing module names from the already-loaded i18n catalog / gateway instead, or degrade gracefully when the meta store is absent (currently it throws and silently falls back to [app]).
Why: The coupling concern is somewhat valid, but the code already degrades gracefully via the try/catch fallback to [app], and the improved_code is identical to existing_code, so no concrete change is proposed.
Low
Confirm module label translations
The core and web msgids are translated to themselves (core/web), which is fine, but sandbox/partner module labels are also untranslated. Confirm these are intentional brand/module identifiers rather than missing translations, and keep them consistent across all module catalogs.
Why: The existing_code and improved_code are identical, and the suggestion only asks to confirm that untranslated module identifiers like core/web are intentional. This is a low-impact verification note with no concrete change.
- Exercise purge/delete missing-session and empty-host no-ops for patch 100%
- Document PO registry tests, idempotent Scheme A cleanup, and Search limit:0
URL.revokeObjectURL runs synchronously right after a.click(); some browsers (notably Safari/Firefox) start the download asynchronously and can fail with a revoked URL. Defer the revoke to a macrotask so the download has been initiated.
Why: Revoking the object URL synchronously after a.click() can break downloads in some browsers; deferring with setTimeout is a legitimate, low-risk hardening fix. The improved_code accurately reflects the change.
Low
Possible issue
Use domain error for refused edit
Throwing a bare Error here bypasses the module's fail(...) domain-error convention used elsewhere in this file, so callers get an unmapped message instead of a stable error code. Use fail with a dedicated code for consistency.
} else if (
Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call(patch, 'Value') &&
!Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call(patch, 'Source')
) {
// Without the prior row we cannot decide packaged→override; refuse the Value edit.
- throw new Error('translation term Value update requires a readable existing row');+ fail(+ 'TRANSLATION_TERM_VALUE_UPDATE_NO_ROW',+ 'translation term Value update requires a readable existing row'+ );
}
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: Using fail(...) instead of a bare Error matches the file's convention and gives callers a stable error code, a reasonable consistency improvement. It is a moderate maintainability/error-handling fix rather than a critical bug.
Low
Avoid store churn from fullPath key
The storeId embeds route.fullPath, so every query-string change (filters, pagination) creates a new store instance and leaks the previous one in the scope manager. Key the store on app only, or dispose the old store before rebinding.
Why: Embedding route.fullPath in storeId can create new store instances on query changes and leak prior ones; keying on app is a plausible improvement. However, the watch only fires on application changes, so the churn is limited, making this a moderate concern.
Low
Performance
Bound pre-read for override detection
Search with limit: 0 loads every matching row into memory just to decide the override flag; a broad Update condition (e.g. by Lang) can pull the whole table. Consider narrowing the pre-read to the rows actually needed, or capping it and falling back to leaving Source untouched when the match set is large.
+ const before = await self.Search(condition as QueryCondition<TranslationTermBaseModel>, {+ fields: ['Module', 'Value', 'Source'],+ limit: 0,+ });-
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: The Search with limit: 0 pre-read is a real performance concern for broad Update conditions, but the improved_code is identical to existing_code, so it does not actually demonstrate the proposed change. The concern is valid but the suggestion is incomplete.
- Defer object URL revoke after click for Safari/Firefox download races
- Use domain fail() for Value update without a readable row
- Key TranslationTerm stores by app only to avoid fullPath churn
Revoking the object URL in a setTimeout(..., 0) can race the browser's async download start in some engines, producing a failed/empty file. Use a short delay (or revoke on windowfocus/pagehide) to give the download time to begin.
const url = URL.createObjectURL(blob);
const a = document.createElement('a');
a.href = url;
a.download = `${moduleName}-${lang}.po`;
a.rel = 'noopener';
document.body.appendChild(a);
a.click();
a.remove();
// Defer revoke: some browsers start the download asynchronously after click().
- setTimeout(() => URL.revokeObjectURL(url), 0);+ setTimeout(() => URL.revokeObjectURL(url), 1000);
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: Revoking the object URL in a 0ms timeout is a known cross-browser download race; increasing the delay is a reasonable, low-risk hardening. Impact is modest since the current code often works, but it addresses a genuine edge case.
Low
Guard bulk Value edits over packaged terms
applyOverrideSourceWhenValueEdited only flips Source when every matched row changes; a bulk Update over a mixed set silently leaves packaged rows unmarked, so a later PO re-import can overwrite user edits. Consider rejecting the bulk Value edit when any matched packaged row would not be marked, or document/guard the mixed case explicitly.
const before = await self.Search(condition as QueryCondition<TranslationTermBaseModel>, {
fields: ['Module', 'Value', 'Source'],
limit: 0,
});
const patch = { ...(values as Record<string, unknown>) };
applyOverrideSourceWhenValueEdited(patch, before as Array<{ Value?: unknown; Source?: unknown }>);
+ if (+ Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call(patch, 'Value') &&+ !Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call(patch, 'Source') &&+ (before as Array<{ Source?: unknown }>).some(+ row => normalizeSource(row.Source as string | null | undefined) === SOURCE_PACKAGED+ )+ ) {+ fail(+ 'TRANSLATION_TERM_BULK_VALUE_UPDATE',+ 'bulk Value update over packaged terms is not allowed; update rows individually'+ );+ }
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 4
__
Why: The observation about applyOverrideSourceWhenValueEdited leaving mixed bulk updates unmarked is accurate, but the proposed fix (hard-failing bulk Value updates) is a significant behavioral change not clearly required by the PR. It's a plausible hardening but the improved_code also references normalizeSource/SOURCE_PACKAGED which are in scope, so it's technically coherent; impact is moderate and speculative.
Low
Possible issue
Let newest module load supersede in-flight one
The loadingModules early-return drops a load request that arrives while another is in flight (e.g. app switched back), leaving modulesLoaded false until the menu is reopened. Since loadGeneration already invalidates stale results, remove the guard so the newest request always wins.
async function loadModules() {
const app = application.value;
if (!app) return;
- if (loadingModules.value) return;
const generation = ++loadGeneration;
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: The loadingModules early-return combined with the generation token is a real (if minor) race: a superseded request can block a newer one. Removing the guard is consistent with the existing loadGeneration invalidation logic, so the fix is sound and low-risk.
Low
Sync Translations reference lines across catalogs
This hunk adds a Translations entry for web/menu/menus.ts:19, but the zh_CN.po counterpart only lists menus.ts:30 and menus.ts:43 for the same msgid. The reference sets are out of sync, which will make choysum i18n status report drift. Regenerate both catalogs together so the #: reference lists match.
Why: The base.pot entry for Translations at menus.ts:19 differs from the zh_CN.po/web.pot reference lists (menus.ts:30, menus.ts:43). This is a plausible drift concern, but the suggestion is speculative about choysum i18n status behavior and the reference sets may legitimately differ per catalog. Moderate impact at best.
Low
Align zh_CN Translations references with pot
The zh_CN.po reference list for Translations omits menus.ts:19, which the web.pot/base.pot side now includes. Missing references mean the entry can be dropped as obsolete on the next extraction. Align the reference lines with the .pot files.
Why: Similar to suggestion 1, this flags a reference-list mismatch between zh_CN.po and the .pot files. It is a reasonable consistency check but not a confirmed correctness bug, and the claim about entries being dropped as obsolete is speculative.
Low
Maintainability
Document pending Scheme A cleanup status
This documents a destructive migration (deleting Module=core rows from host tables) but the PR diff contains no corresponding Go migration or test changes. If the cleanup is not actually implemented in this PR, the README promises behavior that does not exist. Either land the cleanup code/tests in this PR or mark the section as pending.
- **Upgrade from Scheme A:** existing `{app}_translation_term` rows with
`Module=core` are stale under Scheme B (platform catalog is `core` only).
Host-module install/upgrade MUST delete those rows idempotently on every
import/upgrade (and `Registry.Lookup` for `module=core` always reads
`core_translation_term`); covered by lifecycle import regression tests
asserting no `module=core` rows remain in host tables.
+ > Status: cleanup + regression tests tracked separately; until they land,+ > stale `Module=core` rows may still be returned by host lookups.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: The README documents a destructive migration and regression tests that are not visible in this diff. Flagging the documentation/implementation gap is a valid maintainability concern, but the cleanup code may exist in other PRs or files outside this diff, so the suggestion is only partially verifiable.
Low
Enhancement
Localize application menu labels
These new menu entries translate the raw application identifiers core and web as themselves. If the menu label is meant to be user-facing, leaving the untranslated identifier will look broken in zh_CN. Either confirm these are intentionally untranslated technical labels or provide a proper localized label.
Why: The core/web identifiers are technical application names, and translating them to 核心/Web may be undesirable or inconsistent with how app names are displayed elsewhere. The suggestion itself hedges ("confirm these are intentionally untranslated"), making it a low-impact, uncertain enhancement.
The README documents a destructive migration (deleting Module=core rows from host tables) and claims regression-test coverage, but this PR diff contains no such test or cleanup code. If the cleanup is not actually implemented, upgraded installs will keep serving stale Scheme A rows. Ensure the idempotent delete + Registry.Lookup override land in this PR (or a linked one) and that the referenced lifecycle test exists; otherwise soften the claim.
- **Upgrade from Scheme A:** existing `{app}_translation_term` rows with
`Module=core` are stale under Scheme B (platform catalog is `core` only).
Host-module install/upgrade MUST delete those rows idempotently on every
import/upgrade (and `Registry.Lookup` for `module=core` always reads

asserting no `module=core` rows remain in host tables.
+ (Implementation + tests: see `modules/core/service/i18n` migration and+ `*_lifecycle_test.go`; update this note if they move.)
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: The README documents a destructive migration and test coverage not visible in this diff. This is a reasonable verification request, but it only asks to confirm/soften documentation rather than fixing a concrete defect in the shown code.
Low
Verify sys.admin terminology access
The route is documented as "sys.admin by default", but this PR removes the TranslationTerm logical gift packs and relies on sys.admin only. Confirm that sys.admin actually has TranslationTerm Search/Browse/Update/Count access via its own grants (not the removed logical packs), otherwise the terminology UI will 403 for admins after upgrade.
- Terminology UI: Settings → {app} → Translations (folders, pages, and routes in `web`;
each installed app registers its Settings folder; `core` / `web` hosted by `web`).
- Route `/web/terminology/core` (sys.admin by default).+ Route `/web/terminology/core` (sys.admin by default; `sys.admin` must hold+ `core.TranslationTerm` Search/Browse/Update/Count grants — verify after+ removing the logical gift packs).
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: Since the PR removes the TranslationTerm logical gift packs and relies on sys.admin, confirming that sys.admin retains the needed grants is a legitimate concern. However, it is a verification request rather than a demonstrated bug in the diff.
Low
Deactivate inert terminology editor role
This PR removes the TranslationTerm RMA/RFR gift packs for terminology.editor, so the role now grants nothing. Keeping an active, system role that is a no-op is misleading and could be granted to users expecting edit access. Either drop the role shell entirely or make its inert state explicit (e.g. IsActive: false) so it cannot be assigned as if it worked.
Why: The observation that terminology.editor now grants nothing is valid, but the PR intentionally keeps it as a reserved shell with an updated description. Deactivating it (IsActive: false) is a design decision, not a clear bug, and the description already signals its inert state.
Low
Avoid ambiguous zero limit in query
Verify whether Search handles limit: 0 as unbounded in the client-side store, or if it might be interpreted as returning 0 records or triggering default pagination limit. If 0 could constrain results, pass limit: 1000 or omit limit when fetching installed module names.
Why: This is a verification request about Search semantics for limit: 0. The PR itself documents elsewhere that limit: 0 is unbounded (see translation_term_base_model.ts comment), so the concern is likely unfounded; the suggestion is low-impact and speculative.
Low
Security
Confirm PO endpoint validation and authz
This documents a new module query parameter and path-traversal rejection, but the handler change is not in this diff. Confirm the handler actually validates module against the app's installed modules and rejects path-like values before merging; otherwise the documented security guarantee is unenforced. Also note the endpoint is described as "admin" — ensure the authz check (not just registry membership) is enforced.
Optional admin PO download: `GET /web/i18n/po?lang=&application=&module=` (terminology List page).
`application` and `module` are required; the server checks both against the
installed-module registry (rejects unknown apps, modules outside the app, and
-path-like values such as `../../etc`), and returns 400/403 for invalid or-unauthorized values. Covered by handler tests for unknown app, cross-app module,-and path-traversal inputs.+path-like values such as `../../etc`), enforces admin authz, and returns+400/403 for invalid or unauthorized values. Covered by handler tests for+unknown app, cross-app module, path-traversal inputs, and non-admin callers.
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 5
__
Why: The suggestion correctly flags that the documented module validation and admin authz are not visible in this diff. It is a valid verification concern for a security-relevant endpoint, but it does not identify a concrete defect in the shown changes.
Low
Possible bug
Check route collisions before duplicate keys
Check menuByRouteName before checking seenMenuRoutes, or check it regardless of whether seenMenuRoutes[key] was seen. If duplicate menu declarations with the same menu ID exist alongside another menu pointing to the same route, checking seenMenuRoutes first skips validation and leaves the state unchanged.
- if seenMenuRoutes[key] {- continue- }
if prevMenu, exists := menuByRouteName[routeName]; exists && prevMenu != id {
return nil, nil, newUiRuleError(
uiRuleMenuPathDuplicateMenus,
decl,
id,
fmt.Sprintf("menus %q and %q both map to route %q (path %q); route_ui_resource_id must be unique", prevMenu, id, routeName, path),
"keep a single MENU leaf per route path (e.g. only web.menu.terminology_core for /web/terminology/core)",
)
}
+ if seenMenuRoutes[key] {+ continue+ }
seenMenuRoutes[key] = true
menuByRouteName[routeName] = id
menuRoutes = append(menuRoutes, uiResourceMenuRouteRef{MenuName: id, RouteName: routeName})
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 2
__
Why: The seenMenuRoutes key is id + "/" + routeName, so a duplicate key only occurs for the same menu id and route. In that case menuByRouteName[routeName] would already equal id, so the prevMenu != id check would not fire anyway. Reordering the checks does not change behavior, making this a marginal, non-impactful suggestion.
- Cite lifecycle purge helpers/tests instead of a non-existent migration path
- Note sys.admin global RMA/RR/FR covers TranslationTerm without gift packs
- Clarify PO download uses Bearer + Search ACL, not a separate admin gate
Simplify single and multi-row source override logic
When existingRows.length === 1, if the single row is not packaged, the loop correctly skips it and leaves shouldOverride = false. However, if existingRows has 0 rows (e.g., when called during insert or missing search results), shouldOverride remains false. When existingRows.length > 1, every returns true on an empty array if not guarded, though here length > 1 prevents that. Simplify the logic and ensure consistent handling by unifying single and multi-row evaluation.
const next = String(values.Value ?? '');
+ if (existingRows.length === 0) {+ return;+ }
if (existingRows.length > 1) {
// Shared patch: only mark override when every matched row is packaged and changes.
// Mixed packaged/non-packaged matches cannot share a safe Source value — leave alone.
const hasNonPackaged = existingRows.some(
row => normalizeSource(row.Source as string | null | undefined) !== SOURCE_PACKAGED
);
if (hasNonPackaged) {
return;
}
if (existingRows.every(row => next !== String(row.Value ?? ''))) {
values.Source = SOURCE_OVERRIDE;
}
return;
}
- let shouldOverride = false;- for (const row of existingRows) {- if (normalizeSource(row.Source as string | null | undefined) !== SOURCE_PACKAGED) {- continue;- }- if (next !== String(row.Value ?? '')) {- shouldOverride = true;- break;- }- }- if (shouldOverride) {+ const single = existingRows[0];+ if (+ normalizeSource(single.Source as string | null | undefined) === SOURCE_PACKAGED &&+ next !== String(single.Value ?? '')+ ) {
values.Source = SOURCE_OVERRIDE;
}
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 3
__
Why: The suggested change is a minor refactoring of the single-row loop to existingRows[0]. The existing code already handles existingRows.length === 0 safely (the loop simply doesn't run and values.Source remains untouched), so the behavior remains identical.

Enhancement
Validate route collisions before checking deduplication
Check whether menuByRouteName already maps routeName before checking seenMenuRoutes[key], or verify that prevMenu != id. If a duplicate menu decl with the same id and route path is encountered, checking prevMenu != id after seenMenuRoutes works, but if id changes while routing to the same routeName, failing fast before marking seenMenuRoutes is clearer. More critically, ensure decl referenced in newUiRuleError accurately matches the duplicate menu entry rather than just the current declaration.
routeName := routeNames[0]
- key := id + "/" + routeName- if seenMenuRoutes[key] {- continue- }
if prevMenu, exists := menuByRouteName[routeName]; exists && prevMenu != id {
return nil, nil, newUiRuleError(
uiRuleMenuPathDuplicateMenus,
decl,
id,
fmt.Sprintf("menus %q and %q both map to route %q (path %q); route_ui_resource_id must be unique", prevMenu, id, routeName, path),
"keep a single MENU leaf per route path (e.g. only web.menu.terminology_core for /web/terminology/core)",
)
}
+ key := id + "/" + routeName+ if seenMenuRoutes[key] {+ continue+ }
seenMenuRoutes[key] = true
menuByRouteName[routeName] = id
menuRoutes = append(menuRoutes, uiResourceMenuRouteRef{MenuName: id, RouteName: routeName})
Suggestion importance[1-10]: 2
__
Why: The existing code already checks seenMenuRoutes[key] first to skip duplicate occurrences of the identical (menuId, routeName) pair before checking for different menus mapping to the same route (prevMenu != id). Reordering this introduces unnecessary checks for identical pairs without fixing any bug, offering negligible value.
