Step 2 of the plan to 0.1.0.

Rehearsal

Three starters were taken in the browser from the start page to Ready for expert review: examples passing on the synthesised gates, every case tried, every planted mistake caught, timing met, and DRC and LVS clean. No Verilog or testbench code was typed and no AI was used. The full record is in docs/release-rehearsal.md.

Design Planted mistakes caught Start to ready
Up/down counter 12 of 12 1 min 28 s
UART receiver 34 of 34 (32 before Find examples for everything, which found 1 example catching both) 3 min 50 s, about 1 min of it lost to the expired sign-in below
Small FIFO 23 of 23 1 min 16 s

Fixed on the way

  • Expired sign-in reloaded the page. The 30-minute access token was never renewed. The first request after it expired redirected the whole page through Rauthy and lost whatever was on screen (here, a search in progress).
    • auth.ts now renews the token with the refresh token in its last 45 s, without leaving the page. Rauthy only accepts a refresh from 60 s before expiry.
    • It falls back to signing in again only if renewal fails.
  • Starter name got appended to. Picking a starter fills in its title as the project name, and typing added to it. Clicking into the name now selects it, so typing replaces it.

One thing turned out not to be a bug: the commit marker didn't move after a save. That only happened because the browser pane used for the rehearsal was hidden, which stops per-frame updates. It is noted in the record.

Checks

  • Typecheck and web build pass. No Rust changes.
  • The name fix was checked in the browser.
  • Token renewal checked against a real token at 21:49:20 with 28 s left: the request renewed it in place (new token, 30 min), the page did not reload, and the request succeeded.
  • Docs: docs/release-rehearsal.md, a README link, and the CHANGELOG.

… alive

Step 2 of the plan to 0.1.0. The up/down counter, UART receiver and small
FIFO starters went from the start page to "Ready for expert review" in
1 to 4 minutes each, with no code typed and no AI; the record is
docs/release-rehearsal.md.

Fixed on the way:
- The access token (30 min) was never renewed, so the first request after
it expired reloaded the page through the sign-in server and lost what
was on screen. The web app now renews it with the refresh token in the
last 45 s, without leaving the page.
- Picking a starter suggests its title as the project name; clicking into
the name now selects it, so typing replaces it.
