Footer: add investor disclaimer (US + EU compliant)#177
Merged
Conversation
Adds a discrete, small-font investor disclaimer to the global Layout footer, sitting above the existing logo / built-with / copyright row. Centered, capped to max-w-3xl for readability. Copy covers the standard retail-platform disclosures expected on both sides of the Atlantic: - US (SEC clarity): Quantic is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer; nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell; past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results; investing involves risk of principal loss. - EU (MiFID II / ESMA): information is general and does not consider personal financial situation; not investment, financial, tax, or legal advice; encourages consulting a qualified financial professional; flags data-quality caveat (third-party providers may be delayed or inaccurate). Both en and es translations added under `footer.disclaimer`. Note: this hits the disclosure surface every retail tracker uses (Stockopedia, Simply Wall St, Snowball, Yahoo Finance), but it is not legal advice — recommend a real lawyer review before scaling. Was capping to max-w-3xl (~768px), so on wide screens the disclaimer sat in a narrow column with lots of whitespace either side. Standard footer fine-print spans the container width — letting it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Mirrors the Quantic frontend change (fleveque/dividend-portfolio#177): a small, discrete disclaimer paragraph sits above the existing logo / built-with / copyright row in the global Pulse footer. Tailored slightly for Pulse's framing — the portfolios and radars shown are *shared voluntarily by Quantic users*, with the same US (SEC) + EU (MiFID II / ESMA) disclosures the Quantic side uses: - Educational/informational only - General nature, doesn't consider personal financial situation - Not investment/financial/tax/legal advice, not a buy/sell recommendation - Investing involves risk including possible loss of principal - Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results - Third-party data may be delayed or inaccurate - Encourages consulting a qualified financial professional - Pulse is part of Quantic, which is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer Both en + es translations land via gettext. Not legal advice — recommend a real lawyer review before scaling. Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Why
Quantic is a retail investing tracker; surfaces holdings, dividends, target prices, AI insights. Currently has no investor disclaimer in the footer — opens us up to "you said I should buy X" misinterpretation and regulatory friction in EU (MiFID II non-personalized recommendation rules) and US (SEC clarity on what is / isn't investment advice).

This hits the disclosure surface every retail tracker uses (Stockopedia, Simply Wall St, Snowball, Yahoo Finance), but it is not legal advice. Worth running past an actual lawyer before scaling.
