Second of three, stacked on #57.

One 0.97 scale on every pressable was wrong three ways: a wide card or menu row shrank ~20px and wobbled, a shrinking text link read as a glitch, and scaled type blurs on Windows — worst in the pixel faces. Now by role (terminal.css):

Class Modern Retro
.trace-press — buttons, pills, icons scale 0.96, in 80ms, back 200ms down 1px instantly, never scaled
+ .trace-press-wide — wide CTAs scale 0.985 down 1px
.trace-press-row — cards, rows, menu items, nav no movement; ground deepens at once phosphor tint, a terminal selection
.trace-press-text — words alone dims to 60% same
  • Press lands at once, release eases back.
  • A row ignores presses on controls inside it (a tag on a card) — :has(), since :active reaches every ancestor.
  • Reduced motion: controls dim instead of moving.
  • ~40 call sites reclassified; retro .trace-btn keeps its inset shadow.

Checked in the built CSS. Feel needs a real press: gallery, then a modern and a retro theme.

/verify green.

One 0.97 scale on every pressable was wrong three ways: a wide card or
menu row shrank by 20px and wobbled, a text link shrinking read as a
glitch, and scaled type blurs on Windows, worst in the pixel faces.

Now by role: .trace-press (controls) scales 0.96 in modern and drops a
pixel like a key in retro, never scaled; .trace-press-wide eases the
scale for wide calls to action; .trace-press-row (cards, rows, menu
items, nav) does not move, its ground deepens at once and skips presses
on controls inside it; .trace-press-text dims. Press lands at once,
release eases back. Reduced motion dims controls instead of moving them.
