Summary

Applies the maintainer's decision on #2255: HomeAutomation-Config declares python. The issue closes on the promotion pull request.

The registry entry now carries:

  • types: source-only and python
  • pythonDirectories: the eight directories both of the repository's workflows pass to the hub validator's python-directories input (CloudInit, Cloudflare, MutationSweep, Notify, Trackers, USBDev, VPS, scripts)
  • requiredSecrets: CODECOV_TOKEN, which the repository already stores in both the actions and dependabot stores

A new driftNote on the entry records the decision. The committed hub audit reports/homeautomation-config/audit.md records the earlier decision on HomeAutomation-Config #438 to keep python undeclared, and the maintainer reversed it under #2255.

docs/pre-commit-hooks-rollout.md now gives HomeAutomation-Config's row the pre-commit framework half. Before, it read as a doc-gate-only repository, which a resync would tick as complete. Its box is now checked, because the hub audit in reports/homeautomation-config/audit.md graded parity.hooks passing with the Python gates included, and the tracker's maintenance rule owes the box once that audit exists. A sweep of every row against the registry found that the hub's own row also omitted its python type, and that row is corrected too. It also now names #962, rather than "this PR", as where its ruff/mypy half was added.

Verification

Pre-existing findings, not filed

  • spec/divergences.json:24, a stale rationale: the accepted reason for .github/actions/validate/action.yml says HomeAutomation-Config's override runs its CloudInit Python project. The downstream file now says it runs no Python step of its own, because all Python goes through the hub validator's python-directories input. The disposition itself still holds, since the override remains for Pester and the shell harnesses.

The repository's CI validates eight Python directories through the hub
validator, and the registry declared no python type, so the audit
reported the type, both workflows' python-directories inputs, and the
CODECOV_TOKEN secret in both stores as drift. Declaring python with
those eight directories and requiring CODECOV_TOKEN matches the entry to
what the repository runs.

HomeAutomation-Config now declares python, so its row owes the
pre-commit framework half beside the doc gates, rather than reading as a
doc-gate-only repo a resync would tick as complete. The hub's own row
also omitted the python type it declares.

The hub audit in reports/homeautomation-config/audit.md graded
parity.hooks passing, Python gates included, so under the tracker's
maintenance rule the box is owed rather than pending. The hub's own row
ran one sentence past the sentence-length limit once its types grew.

The hub's row said the half was added in "this PR's own commits", which
read true only inside the pull request that wrote it. It names #962.

The committed hub audit records the maintainer's earlier decision, on
HomeAutomation-Config #438, to keep python undeclared. A driftNote now
says the maintainer reversed it under #2255, so the registry and that
report no longer disagree silently.

Answer to the Copilot round on e3c0db60. Its headline flags two points (2) and opens no threads:

Remove PR-specific checklist wording and refresh or correct the referenced HomeAutomation-Config audit report.

  1. PR-specific checklist wording. docs/pre-commit-hooks-rollout.md:61: the hub's row said the ruff/mypy half was "added in this PR's own commits". Fixed in 0ebaeb8, which names Make Local Pre-Commit Hooks Strongly Suggested Fleet-Wide #962, the PR whose commit 86d862d3 added that half to .husky/pre-commit.
  2. Refresh or correct the referenced audit report. No change needed to the citation. The row cites reports/homeautomation-config/audit.md only for its parity.hooks grade, which line 24 records as read by hand and passing. That grade does not depend on the report's type field: the tracker's own lines 43-46 say the doc-gate half alone satisfies parity.hooks, and the downstream .pre-commit-config.yaml on main still carries the doc gates and the Python hooks for all eight directories. The report also records the earlier decision to keep python undeclared (lines 46 and 79), and de8b7d3 (worded in 6cf0a09 and 5570c03) now records the maintainer's reversal of that decision as a driftNote on the registry entry. Refreshing the report itself is a hub-side audit run, a separate deliverable from this registry change. Its next run picks up the new type and secret.

…n-Config Python (#3535)

## Summary

Promotes `develop` to `main`:

- #3530: `GOVERNANCE.md` "Editor and Tasks" names the forbidden VS Code
files by basename under `.vscode/`. A carrier that once deleted
`.vscode/settings.json` can then re-vendor the section without the prose
gate's `dead-path` rule refusing it. This fixes the defect #1612
describes (that issue is closed and is referenced here, not closed by
this PR).
- #3532: HomeAutomation-Config's registry entry declares `python`, its
eight `pythonDirectories`, and `CODECOV_TOKEN`, with a driftNote
recording the maintainer's decision. The pre-commit hooks rollout
tracker rows are updated to match.
