CI overhaul (3/9): add the RNTL drag render-path backstop #67
Part of the CI overhaul execution plan (#59, map #53). Order: 3 of 9 — lands before the feedback excision (4/9) so the compensating coverage exists before the apparatus it replaces is deleted.
Decision: #55, recorded in ADR 0006 (2026-09-01 amendment).
Scope
Add a deterministic React Native Testing Library test asserting that the drag-preview and destination-highlight render paths activate during a simulated drag. This is the machine proof replacing the OCR/pixel screenshot-feedback gate for the broken-render-wiring regression class. Zero flake tolerance: no timers racing real animation, no snapshot images — assert on rendered output/props/testIDs.
Files
New test alongside the existing RNTL integration tests in src/ (match the existing test layout and naming conventions).
Ruleset / required-check changes
None (runs inside the existing ci.ymltest job).
Acceptance criteria
The test fails when the drag-preview render wiring or the destination-highlight wiring is deliberately broken (verify both by temporary mutation; include the mutation check in the PR description).
Deterministic: passes 10/10 locally with --runInBand and under --maxWorkers=2.
Runs in the ordinary yarn test suite, no new CI job.
Landed: src/__tests__/issue67-drag-render-paths.test.tsx — deterministic RNTL backstop asserting the drag-preview overlay and destination-feedback highlight activate during a simulated drag and deactivate at release. Mutation-verified on both wirings (overlay start dispatch removed; destination-feedback opacity wiring broken — test fails under each), 10/10 with --runInBand and 10/10 under --maxWorkers=2, runs in the ordinary yarn test suite.
