First characterized temporal changes in >1100 circulating metabolites among MBS patients (n=115) at pre-; 3-mo post-, and 12-mo post-MBS. Then extended the investigation by examining associations between MBS-altered metabolites and incident CHD risk in an independent nested case–control study (n=1,194) using the same metabolomic platform.
