Creating signalbox layout

General

You can create a signalbox layout by clicking on 'Editor'.

Here, you can draw your signalbox layout in a 100 x 100 tiles field.

At the 'Info tab' on the right side you get more informations. On the bottom scroll bar you can select an element you want to place / remove.

With 'R' you can rotate the element by 90 degree.

With 'left click' you can place or delete the element in the grid.

With a click on 'Operation' you save your layout and return to the operation view.

Now, if you have draw your signalbox layout, the next step is to link all signals and RedstoneIO and configure the signalbox where you also connect your signals in the world with the signals in your layout and do further adjustments.


Elements

Here you can find a full list of available elements you can place.

Symbol Element Description
image straight path A normal straight path
image diagonal path A diagonal path for curves or switches
image track end An end of track (with buffer stop)
image platforms A symbol for a platform, have no further use
image railroad crossing A railroad crossing symbol
image main signal A normal main signal. A main signal can also work as a distant signal or a signal with distant function.
image distant signal A distant signal
image shunting signal A shunting signal
image shunting holding sign A sign where shunting paths ended
image track blocking signal An addition to prevent that a pathway can be set over this signal
image incoming connection An incoming connection from another signalbox
image outgoing connection An outgoing connection to another signalbox
image dead signal A dead end works like a track end element. It is an end point of a pathway.
image Ne1 The Ne1 is like the Ne5 for 'Direct traffic control' operations. It is equal to an entry signal. But you can't link a signal to this.
image Ne5 The Ne5 is like the Ne1 for 'Direct traffic control' operations. It is equal to an exit signal. But you can't link a signal to this.
image Zs3 (speed indicator) Is for standalone speed indicators.
image train number field The train number field can show the train number.
image crossing element Allows same-level track crossings. If you want different-level crossings, simply place two orthogonal straights

Features

Switch

You can create a switch by placing a straight path and a diagonal path at the same tile.

Main signal with shunting possibility

If you want to create a main signal with shunting possibility, you need to place a main signal and a shunting signal at the same tile. Because the normal pathway and the shunting pathways are separeted systems. (You will also need to associate the 'main signal with shunting possibility' to the main signal and the shunting signal.)

Main signal with distant possibility

If you want to have a multi-section signal, it is sufficient to only place a main signal in the grid. It has also distant funtion.

At-grade and grade-separated crossing

An at-grade crossing can be build with the crossing element. A grade-seperated crossing can be build with two perpendicular straight paths.


Note

Our system allows you to adapt the signalbox according to individual requirements. We point out that only simpler things are presented and shown here. You can also represent more complex circumstances. However, not everything is possible, because the system can not take into consideration every single case.

Tip

Be creative and experiment with your ideas. It is not every edge case possible, but you may can find with redstone logic ways to make them work.

Warning

Because Minecraft has limited storage capacity, it is not recommended to use the entire tiles layout.
