Media Hub is a searchable, navigable repository of reusable media assets, created and sourced by the Media Production team within LEI. The tool is aimed to be used by professional and academic staff at the University of Adelaide to find material to use and re-use within their own courses.
The primary objective of the Media Hub project is to develop a framework that supports the cataloguing, sourcing and reuse of high-quality media for online and blended courses.
Courses designed and developed at the University of Adelaide have much opportunity for crossover and reuse of material. Currently, there is no central supported way to catalogue material, in particular media content which is costly to produce, search that material and select it for reuse in new courses that are being developed. Such a tool would see significant cost saving and value add to all media produced within LEI and allow course budgets and time to be spent on new media, innovative practice and quality uplift beyond what is currently possible.
A minimum viable product containing two products to be considered and developed in parallel:
- An interface to upload, add data and submit new media to the database/site
- A site to navigate the existing library with ability to search and filter using keywords, tags, collections, etc
