Build Instructions

Requirements for all platforms

• Python 2.5.x
• Ruby 1.8.x
• scons
• git

Requirements for OSX

• Recent XCode
• Darwin ports / pkgconfig
  

  sudo port install pkgconfig

Requirements for Windows

• MS Visual Studio 2005 (haven’t tested other versions/express)
• VS 2005 Team Suite SP1
• Platform SDK 2003 R2
• If running Vista, Visual Studio 2005 SP1 for Vista

One-time setup steps – Windows

• Register Platform SDK 2003 w/ Visual Studio:
  Start > Programs > Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2 > Visual Studio Registration > Register PSDK Directories with Visual Studio
• Add to PATH:
  

  C:\Python25;C:\Python25\Scripts

• Set PYTHONHOME environment
  

  set PYTHONHOME=c:\Python25

• Comment first 3 lines in ruby include file
  

  notepad c:\ruby\lib\ruby\1.8\i386-mswin32\config.h

  //#error MSC version unmatch

Requirements for Ubuntu 8.10 32-bit

• gcc for linux
• Install required dev libs
  

  sudo apt-get install build-essential ruby rubygems libzip-ruby scons libxml2-dev libgtk2.0-dev python-dev ruby-dev libdbus-glib-1-dev libnotify-dev libgstreamer0.10-dev libxss-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev 

• Install git
  

  sudo apt-get install git-core

Requirements for Fedora 10

• Install required dev libs
  

  sudo yum install gcc gcc-c++ git-core python-devel ruby-devel scons gtk2-devel gstreamer-devel libnotify-devel libXScrnSaver-devel libcurl-devel

To build titanium

1. Checkout the code from git
   

   git clone git://github.com/marshall/titanium

2. cd into the new titanium folder
   

   cd titanium

3. Init the kroll git submodule
   

   git submodule init

4. Update the kroll git submodule
   

   git submodule update

5. cd into the kroll folder
   

   cd kroll

6. Checkout master for kroll
   

   git checkout master

7. Change back to the titanium folder
   

   cd ..

8. Run scons
   

   scons debug=1

To Run the test app

1. package and run the test app
   

   scons testapp debug=1 run=1

   or
2. you should also check out the new unittest which will replace testapp soon
   

   scons unittest debug=1 run=1
