Bug Fixes
Conditional barrier support is now enabled consistently across Vulkan devices, including systems using Intel’s proprietary Windows drivers. This may improve compatibility for applications and workloads that rely on conditional barriers.
Intel Windows users may encounter shader stalls or incorrect rendering; restore the driver guard before merging.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to cd2b4
The change removes a graphics-driver workaround on Intel Windows systems. It can restore synchronization needed for correct rendering, but behavior under divergent shader execution remains uncertain. No new permissions, remote access, or confirmed security failure are demonstrated.
Retained concerns
Low · security · inferred: Removing the Intel Windows exception allows guest conditional barriers to reach host workgroup synchronization instead of being discarded. Divergence or early returns can leave incomplete workgroup participation; the inspected path does not establish uniform participation or containment if execution stalls. This is an inferred availability risk, not a verified driver failure.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The newly affected cohort is Vulkan execution on Intel proprietary Windows drivers, without a driver-version restriction in this assignment. Exploiting the synchronization path requires guest shader content to be executed. The supported concern is local GPU execution availability; broader service, tenant, or privilege impact is not established.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — BAR translation checks supported instruction modes, immediate operands, and predicate form before emitting a barrier. Those checks do not establish dynamic workgroup participation. The capability change bypasses the conditional-barrier rewrite, but that rewrite is not a complete guest-to-host security boundary.

Explanation
Issue #123 covers Yoshi demo support, including GPU synchronization, image lookup, shader support, and H.264 detection. This PR changes only supports_conditional_barriers from !is_intel_windows to true. The change may support the Windows rendering path, but the available evidence does not identify which #123 requirement it completes or verify Yoshi title and save-menu behavior. Existing implementation at the reviewed head cannot be fully assessed from the available focused evidence.
Resolution
Evidence is missing for the relationship between unconditional conditional-barrier support and the behavior required by issue #123. Evidence is also missing for the required Yoshi demo behavior or a focused automated test.

Restore the Intel proprietary Windows conditional-barrier guard.
With supports_conditional_barriers forced to true, Intel proprietary Windows skips ConditionalBarrierPass and emits Workgroup OpControlBarrier instructions from conditional control flow. SPIR-V defines that case as undefined unless every workgroup invocation executes the same barrier instance. The existing driver-specific guard prevents this path for the affected driver.

Are there any conflicts with older intel GPUs on Windows, that do not support the conditional barriers and would therefore need a more refined version of this bool?
Find authoritative documentation or known emulator driver issues for conditional shader workgroup barriers on Intel proprietary Windows Vulkan drivers, especially older Intel GPU generations versus Arc. Is there a documented affected-generation boundary or fixed driver version for the yuzu supports_conditional_barriers = !is_intel_windows workaround? Distinguish Vulkan conditional rendering from shader OpControlBarrier, and explain whether a uniform conditional branch is permitted and whether Vulkan exposes a feature bit for divergent workgroup barriers. Do not infer a cutoff without evidence.

Extract the exact explanation of Intel Windows conditional shader barriers and ConditionalBarrierPass. Do these sources identify older Intel GPU generations, Arc GPUs, or an affected/fixed driver version? Provide relevant quotations, and distinguish a broad workaround from an established hardware cutoff.

@kraibseOlder Intel Windows configurations could need the workaround, but I cannot confirm an affected GPU generation or a safe driver-version cutoff from the available evidence. A narrower condition could be appropriate, but GPU age alone is not a reliable basis.
The code shows that this bool selects a shader workaround, not a queried Vulkan feature:
With false, ConditionalBarrierPass removes barriers inside conditional control flow and after conditional returns.
With true, shader translation skips that removal pass.
The previous !is_intel_windows condition covers all Intel proprietary Windows drivers. It does not identify which GPUs or driver versions need the workaround.
I also need to qualify my original finding. A barrier inside a conditional branch is not automatically invalid. Uniform conditional control flow is permitted. For a workgroup barrier, all workgroup invocations must execute the same dynamic barrier instance. The removal pass does not check that distinction. Restoring the guard therefore does not prove correct synchronization either. SPIR-V specification
Before choosing a narrower condition, I recommend:
Record the tested GPU device ID and exact Windows driver version.
Compare both bool values on the failing workload and on an older supported Intel GPU.
Check shader compilation, hangs, and rendering correctness.
Use those results to define a device/driver-specific exception. Do not invent an “Arc and newer” or driver-version cutoff.
The current evidence supports a compatibility concern, but not a confirmed older-GPU regression or a specific replacement condition.

since this variable being false creates lines across the entire world that follow the camera, it makes the game almost unplayable. So leaving it true is the best option.

The fix from #469 apparently only applies to the MESA drivers and leaves out windows devices. The issue would persist on there.
For windows it still runs the old code path with the issue because it has a separate driver check for it. This MR only changed behaviour for Linux anv, you'll need to change the same line to just evaluate to true on Windows too, and then compile and test.

I tested this on an Intel(R) Arc(TM) 140V GPU (8GB) (128 MB) and other than some small graphical glitches there are no issues here.

is_intel_windows doesn't have to be delated unlike the previous version with linux since lünux only used that variable once, the builds went crazy cuz there was an unused variable. But on this one even if you delate the thing and make it true the variable is still used somewhere else so it doesn't cause any issues.
