fix(isolation): fence Mysterium like every other earner, so a compromised node cannot rewrite the host firewall - #665
Mysterium was the one earner the LAN fence did not cover. It ran with network_mode: host and NET_ADMIN, so it held NET_ADMIN in the host's own network namespace. From there a compromised node, or a malicious image update, could rewrite the host's firewall (the fence included), add routes and addresses, bind any port on every host address, and reach the LAN, the tailnet, cloud metadata and every other container. Its only protection was its own --firewall.protected.networks list, which the node itself controls. No host rule holds against a process that can rewrite the host's rules.
Fix
The node moves off the host network into its own namespace on cashpilot-isolated, the bridge every other earner already uses.
Its NET_ADMIN reaches only its own namespace. The fence matches on the bridge interface, so whatever the node does to its own tables, what it sends to the LAN, the host, a tailnet or metadata is dropped on the host. Kernel WireGuard and the node's own NAT keep working inside its namespace.
Inbound sessions keep working.UDP_PORTS is published 1:1 (udp_port_range, at most 1000 ports). The default is now 56000:56029: 30 ports carry about 15 sessions, and each published port costs about 2.5 MB in docker-proxy. It sits inside the old 56000:56100, so existing router forwards keep working, and a node with the old range on record keeps it.
WebUI. The node listens on 0.0.0.0 inside its namespace. Port 4449 is published only on the UI_ADDRESS host addresses (ui_port), loopback by default. The Tequila API is never published.
Started only behind the fence. The catalog marks the node fence_gated. Docker gives it restart policy no. The worker creates the container and starts it only after reading the fence back complete. A guard runs every 30 s while such a node exists. It starts the node after a reboot, a daemon restart or a crash, and only once the fence reads complete. It stops the node when a fence rule disappears, or when the container is found privileged, with an extra capability, another image, a restart policy, or off the network its mode puts it on. A deploy holds a lock, and while it is held the guard only stops. Start and Restart refuse a node the guard would hold. After stopping it, the guard writes the fence back. If the isolation mode can't be read, or the node is attached to a second network, it stops the node too. A Stop from the dashboard is recorded under the guard's lock, so a pass can't start the node behind it, and fails if the record can't be written. A deploy can't relabel the node out of the guard's sight. The fleet page shows any node the guard is holding stopped, and why.
Only behind the fence. A fence-gated service runs only in on mode or on the operator's own network (CASHPILOT_CONTAINER_NETWORK). In off, legacy and on Podman the node would sit on Docker's default bridge, where every other earner reaches its WebUI. There the deploy is refused before the running node is touched, with "Switch isolation on in Fleet, then redeploy MystNodes." (the catalog name on the dashboard card).
A node from 2.0.6 or earlier is left alone. A Mysterium container on the host's network keeps running exactly as it is, in any mode, until its owner redeploys it. The guard never stops, starts or changes it, and Start, Stop and Restart work as before. Drift and Check isolation keep flagging it, with the order: switch isolation on in Fleet, then redeploy Mysterium once.
The identity is checked. On a redeploy the worker reads the node identity before removing the old container. The guard compares it with the new container's identity. If they differ, it stops the node and keeps it stopped until the next deploy.
The threat class becomes a load error. The catalog refuses any service with NET_ADMIN or SYS_ADMIN that uses host networking, lacks a @sha256: image, or is not fence_gated. The worker reads its own catalog and refuses host networking or any other image for the node, whatever the request says.
Image pinned by digest, mysteriumnetwork/myst:1.39.9-alpine@sha256:f89347d2…, a multi-arch index covering amd64, arm64 and arm/v7. runtime: runc wins over an operator default of gVisor, which has no iptables-nft or kernel WireGuard.
Customer DNS comes from the bridge's resolvers (CASHPILOT_CONTAINER_DNS), not the host's tailnet or LAN resolver.
Drift flags a node still on the host network even though its record says host, plus a restart policy or another image. The record's network mode and ports no longer win for a fence-gated service, so the dashboard's Redeploy is the migration.
Check isolation fails on any managed container holding NET_ADMIN/SYS_ADMIN (or privileged) in the host netns.
No Compose export for a fence-gated service: Compose would start it unfenced on a shared network.
Socket proxy no longer allows the host cgroup namespace. Only the Activity probe of a host-network earner needed it.
Migration: a node deployed on the host network keeps running untouched until it is redeployed. The order is: switch isolation on in Fleet, then redeploy Mysterium once. The dashboard refuses to redeploy it onto a worker that lacks the new fence_gated feature. The redeploy reuses the data volume or data folder, so the identity and earnings stay. Downtime is under a minute. Steps are in UPGRADING.md.
Not done as planned, and why
allow_host_network stays true in the socket policy. The LAN fence's own helper and the isolation check's control probe run on host networking through the proxy. sockguard 2.4.6 cannot allow that for one image or label only. The worker refuses host networking to every catalog service, and the catalog refuses it to NET_ADMIN services. To flip it, the proxy would need a per-label rule, or the helper would have to stop going through the proxy.
The isolation check's earner-side probe still picks an ordinary bridge earner, not the node. The node's own rules could drop a probe before the fence counts it, and that would turn the check red falsely in production. The fence matches on the bridge interface, so a probe from any earner on it tests the same rules. docs/isolation-check.md shows the one-line probe from the node's own namespace, and the lab below ran it.
Tests
tests/test_mysterium_fenced.py (56 tests) covers the catalog rule, range expansion and cap, the deploy payload, migrating a host-network record, refusals on old workers and other images, the worker's own refusals, deploy_raw (restart policy no, create then start, nothing started without the fence, runc over runsc, identity read), the socket policy, drift, the isolation check, the guard (stop and re-apply, start, owner stop respected, recreated container, identity mismatch kept sticky), and fence_problem.
Run against origin/main with the old app/ and services/, 65 tests fail and 17 error: every new test, plus the updated UI-address, UDP-port, lan-isolation and socket-proxy tests.
Mutations, each one going red: re-adding network_mode: host to the YAML (the module fails to load, since the catalog rejects the entry), dropping or gated from the restart policy, the drift branch, the isolation-check condition, the guard's spec and identity checks, and the deploy's network override.
Full suite: 7659 passed, 8 skipped. test_workers.py::test_client_id_passed_to_upsert failed once under -n 6. It passes alone, 3 out of 3, with and without this change.

Lab
Run on a Linux Docker 29 VM with nf_tables, with the worker image built from this branch and the shipped docker-compose.worker.yml (sockguard in front):
A deploy through the real worker API and sockguard published 101 UDP bindings plus 4449 on two addresses. It pulled by digest and came up on cashpilot-isolated with RestartPolicy=no, Runtime=runc and caps NET_ADMIN, SETUID, SETGID. resolv.conf uses only the embedded resolver with 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9.
A redeploy logged "kept its identity 0x… across the redeploy". The identity was read through the proxy's allowed exec.
Positive controls: a default-bridge container and a host-network container both REACHED a host listener on the LAN address, the host via two bridge gateways, another container, the LAN gateway and 100.100.100.100:53.
Attack from inside the node as root: it flushed its mangle, nat and filter tables, set the OUTPUT policy to ACCEPT, added a LAN route, a LAN source address and a dummy link. Every internal target was then blocked, from a LAN source too, and 1.1.1.1:443 still connected. The fence counters rose: host by 12, cgnat by 6, link-local by 3, rfc1918-192 by 6 once the attacker's on-link route was removed. Another container's IP was dropped earlier by Docker's own raw rule. The host's ip cashpilot table, its link list and its legacy mangle table were byte-identical before and after.
Guard drill: one fence rule was deleted on the host. The node was stopped 26 s later, the fence was rewritten 2 s after that, and the node started on the next pass.
Reboot drill: the fence tables were deleted and dockerd restarted. The node stayed exited until the worker had applied the fence (fence at :37.47, node started at :38.12).
Through the worker API, a deploy with network_mode: host got a 403 and one with another image got a 403. Through sockguard, privileged and host-cgroupns creates were refused.
docker-proxy for the default range ran 205 processes, about 250 MB PSS in total (RSS is about 930 MB, mostly shared pages). See the residual risks below.
A paid customer session behind Docker's DNAT was not tested in the lab. The live trial decides it, after merge.
Independent verification
Run separately, on its own VM, through the real worker API, each with a control that succeeds without the protection:
From the node's namespace as root: the host (three addresses), 10.x, 192.168.x, 100.64.x, metadata, the real LAN and peers on both bridges blocked, 1.1.1.1:443 open. A default-bridge container with the same image and caps reached all of them.
IPv6 forced on in the node's namespace, with its own ULA address and routes: link-local and ULA to the host blocked; the control reached both.
Customer packets written into a tun device in the node's namespace, with its own protection unhooked: only the public target answered; in the control every internal target answered.
An origin/main worker deployed a host-network node. Swapped to this branch's worker in legacy mode, then switched to on: same container, start time and restart count across six guard passes and a deleted fence rule. A redeploy was refused in legacy with the message above. In on it moved the node to cashpilot-isolated with restart policy no, and the worker logged "kept its identity".
With the worker switched to off, a fence-gated node was stopped, a deploy got 409 with the old container untouched, and Start got 503.
Residual risks
The node still holds NET_ADMIN inside its own namespace, so the kernel's netlink, nf_tables, WireGuard and tun code is reachable from it. Follow-up: try --userspace with cap_drop ALL in the same netns, and drop NET_ADMIN and tun if earnings hold.
Docker's userland proxy costs about 2.5 MB per published port: about 75 MB for the new 30-port default, 250 MB for a node that keeps 56000:56100. The daemon-wide setting is left alone.
With no fence-gated container on a worker, a deleted fence rule comes back on the 5-minute fence recheck, not within 30 s. This was the behaviour before this change too.
UPnP stops working for the node. Manual forwarding is documented.
A LAN UI_ADDRESS is published through FORWARD, so a host INPUT rule no longer restricts it (documented: use DOCKER-USER).
The digest pin needs bumping for upstream fixes.
If the worker is down after a reboot, the node stays stopped. It fails closed, but earns nothing.
Desktop follow-up
Not in this PR. CashPilot-Desktop needs the matching change:
internal/catalog/catalog.go: add UDPPortRange (udp_port_range), UIPort (ui_port), FenceGated (fence_gated) and Runtime. Validate them the way the Python catalog does, including the rule that refuses NET_ADMIN/SYS_ADMIN with host networking, without a digest, or without fence_gated. catalogsync must carry the new keys, and its test must fail if they are dropped. Mysterium no longer has network_mode or a static 4449:4449.
internal/runtime/runtime.gobuildPorts: expand the range from the env, 1:1 and capped at 1000, plus 4449 on each UI_ADDRESS address (default 127.0.0.1, never 0.0.0.0). Mysterium lands on the bridge once network_mode is gone. Desktop has no fence, so on Desktop FenceGated means restart policy no with the app starting the node. The protection there is the private netns, the node's own list and Docker Desktop's VM, not CashPilot's fence. Honour Runtime: runc.
internal/compose/compose.go: emit the expanded ports and no network_mode: host. compose_test must assert both.
Tests in internal/catalog and internal/runtime that fail on the old code: no host network for Mysterium, range expansion and its cap, 4449 only on the UI_ADDRESS addresses, and the digest pin.
Desktop has no fence, so the rule here (a fence-gated node runs only behind the fence) has no direct equivalent there and must be decided in that change. On Docker's default bridge every other earner reaches the node's WebUI on 4449. The candidate is Docker Desktop's VM boundary plus a dedicated network with inter-container traffic off for the node. Not implemented here.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Mysterium now runs in an isolated network namespace behind the LAN fence. It starts only when isolation requirements are met, and the dashboard reports when it is held stopped.
WebUI access is published on localhost by default, with optional address-specific bindings. The default UDP range is now 56000–56029.
Bug Fixes
Deployments validate network settings, image and runtime requirements, port limits, and node identity before starting or restarting.
Isolation checks now flag risky host-networked containers, including stopped containers.
Documentation
Added upgrade and migration guidance, including port forwarding, WebUI access, identity checks, and rollback.
…ised node cannot rewrite the host firewall
Mysterium ran on the host's network with NET_ADMIN, so the node or a
malicious image update could rewrite the host's firewall (the LAN fence
included), add routes, bind any host port and reach the LAN, the tailnet,
cloud metadata and every other container. No host rule holds against that.
The node now runs in its own network namespace on cashpilot-isolated, with
its UDP range published 1:1 and its WebUI published on the UI_ADDRESS host
addresses (loopback by default). Docker gives it no restart policy: the
worker starts it only after reading the fence back complete, and a 30 s
guard stops it when a fence rule goes or the container is recreated on the
host network, privileged, with another capability, image or restart policy.
A redeploy checks the node keeps its identity.
The catalog refuses NET_ADMIN or SYS_ADMIN with host networking, without a
digest-pinned image, or without fence_gated. The image is pinned, runc wins
over an operator gVisor default, drift and the isolation check flag a node
still on the host network, and the socket proxy no longer allows the host
cgroup namespace. Existing nodes move on their next redeploy (UPGRADING.md).

Walkthrough
Mysterium moves from host networking to a fence-gated network namespace with catalog-defined UI and UDP port publishing. The worker validates deployment settings, controls container lifecycle against fence state, and reports held containers. Tests and documentation cover deployment, migration, and isolation behavior.
The catalog defines a digest-pinned image, runc, fence gating, UI bindings, and a default UDP range of 56000:56029. Helpers validate and expand UDP and UI bindings. Compose export and isolation reporting include configured published ports.
Dashboard and worker paths enforce catalog-defined network, image, runtime, and port constraints. The orchestrator creates gated containers without starting them, records identity during replacement, and validates start, stop, and restart operations.
A periodic guard checks gated containers and fence state, stops containers when checks fail, and starts eligible containers when checks pass. Drift and isolation checks report relevant conditions, and fleet status displays held-container reasons. Socket-proxy policies deny host cgroup namespaces.

…n the same node at once
A guard pass that overlapped a redeploy could read the old node's identity
after deploy_raw recorded it, match it and delete the record, so the new
node was never compared; it could also start the old node between its stop
and its removal. deploy_raw now holds a lock for fence-gated services, and
while it is held the guard only stops.
Start and Restart of a held node answered 'started' and ran it until the
next guard pass stopped it again. They now refuse a node the guard would
hold for its shape or a different identity, not only for a missing fence.
…d the fence test really do
The 101-port default cost about 250 MB in docker-proxy processes for about
50 concurrent sessions a home node never sees. The default is now
56000:56029, inside the old range, so existing router forwards stay valid,
and the hint and guide say 20 to 30 ports are enough.
UPGRADING said an old host-network node keeps running until redeployed; the
upgraded worker stops it at once. The identity check is described as the
best-effort net it is, the fence probe now runs a control first and shows the
iptables-legacy counters, UI_ADDRESS is described as this machine's
addresses, the hand-made container has no restart policy, and the fleet page
no longer says a node held for its shape starts by itself.
…r's network, so other earners cannot reach its WebUI
In off and legacy mode a fence-gated node sat on Docker's default bridge,
where inter-container traffic is on and its WebUI now listens on 0.0.0.0
inside its namespace: any other earner could reach port 4449 and, with the
default password, change the payout wallet. Before the move it listened on
host loopback only. Outside on and operator mode the worker now refuses the
deploy before the running node is touched, refuses Start, and the guard
stops a node already running there, with a reason that says how to turn
isolation on.
…ork, and start a hand-made one only behind the fence
In operator mode a node left on Docker's default bridge, or on our fenced
bridge, was started as if the operator's rules covered it. The guard now
holds it until it is on CASHPILOT_CONTAINER_NETWORK.
The guide's hand-made container was started by docker run before any fence
check, and its after-reboot start trusted a log line. It is now created, and
started only when the fence's host rule is in the table.
…il its owner redeploys it
Every node deployed through 2.0.3 runs on the host's network, and the
upgraded worker's guard stopped it within seconds of starting, in any
isolation mode, so an upgrade took the node down before anyone chose to
move it. A fence-gated service's container on the host's network is now
left exactly as it is: the guard neither stops nor starts it, and Start,
Stop and Restart work on it as before. Drift and the isolation check keep
flagging it.
Only deploy and redeploy are refused outside on and operator mode, and the
refusal, the drift finding, the isolation check and UPGRADING give the
order: switch isolation on in Fleet, then redeploy Mysterium once.

Start the guard even when Docker is initially unavailable.
If Docker becomes reachable after startup, the worker never starts the guard. Fence-gated nodes then run without guard checks and remain stopped after a crash. Start the guard loop regardless of the initial Docker probe so it can retry after recovery.

reject fence-gated Mysterium services unless the export provides both a
fence-aware network and a fence-aware startup lifecycle. Preserve exports for
services that meet both requirements; use the existing fence configuration and
validation mechanisms rather than assuming the current port mappings or restart
policy provide fencing.
Review comments at @app/drift.py:
- Around line 197-203: Update the `not want_host` drift check to include the
expected UDP port range derived from the recorded environment and catalog
defaults, matching the ports a redeploy would publish. Compare those expected
ports with `shape.get("ports")` independently of the UI-port check so a
published UI port cannot hide missing UDP publications.
- Around line 189-193: Update the gated host-network drift warning around the
`gated` conditional to identify the affected service dynamically instead of
naming Mysterium, and describe the networking risk without claiming the service
has `NET_ADMIN`. Preserve the existing isolation and redeployment guidance while
making it applicable to any fence-gated service.
Review comments at @app/lan_fence.py:
- Around line 1112-1117: Prevent Mysterium deploy requests from overriding the
reserved cashpilot.service and cashpilot.managed labels. Update the request
validation or label construction used by Mysterium deployments to reject or
discard caller-supplied values for these labels, while ensuring the guard
continues to identify and manage the node using the trusted label values; locate
the relevant deployment flow using the visible LABEL_SERVICE symbol.
- Around line 1073-1078: Update the recovery messages in the mode mapping and
fallback so they refer to the affected service rather than hardcoding Mysterium;
reuse an available service identifier, or use service-neutral wording if none is
available.
- Around line 1095-1103: Update the fence read check around read_fence so it
validates the managed network’s driver and options, including the expected
bridge interface, before approving the fence. Treat missing or mismatched
network configuration as an incomplete fence and keep the node stopped; preserve
the existing handling for read errors and a nonexistent network.
- Around line 1101-1103: Update the fence validation that checks
result.get("present") and result.get("matches") to verify the firewall rules’
actual match criteria and drop actions before accepting the fence; do not rely
on a preserved comment or rule presence alone. Keep the existing
incomplete-fence behavior so the node remains stopped unless the expected rules
are confirmed.
- Around line 1149-1150: Update the guard around resolve_mode(client) so a
mode-resolution failure is treated as a hold and routes affected nodes through
the existing stop path. Preserve normal handling when mode resolution succeeds,
and ensure no nodes remain running without the host fence.
- Around line 1161-1170: Serialize the guard’s stopped-marker check and
subsequent c.start() in the gated-node loop with Stop’s marker update and
completion, using synchronization shared by both paths. Ensure a Stop that
completes cannot be followed by the guard starting that node based on a stale
marker read.
Review comments at @app/lan_isolation.py:
- Around line 87-88: Update the catalog UI default-address check that appends to
found to classify parsed IP addresses with ipaddress.is_loopback, matching the
static-port handling; preserve the existing treatment of blank values and
localhost while excluding all valid loopback addresses from inbound exceptions.
Review comments at @app/orchestrator.py:
- Line 984: Update the container-down alert guidance in the redeployment flow to
distinguish fenced Mysterium copies from ordinary nodes: when the guard holds an
exited node, direct the operator to the guard hold reason and do not claim
redeployment will set the restart policy to unless-stopped. Use the existing
fenced/guard state to select the guidance, preserving the current restart-policy
behavior.
- Around line 1173-1175: Update predates_fence and the guard and Start/Restart
checks to track migration provenance independently of NetworkMode, so migrated
nodes remain subject to the firewall restrictions even when recreated with host
networking and NET_ADMIN. Preserve the exemption for nodes confirmed to be
genuinely legacy.
- Around line 1350-1353: Update the gated-node network guard to inspect all
network attachments, not only network_mode, and hold the node if it is attached
to any network beyond the one allowed for its mode. Preserve the existing
required-network checks for MODE_ON and MODE_OPERATOR, using the available
attachment data rather than assuming a particular API.
- Around line 1158-1162: Update stop_service so a failed STOPPED_MARKER write
cannot be reported as a successful stop; propagate the write failure or
otherwise ensure the stop intent is preserved before returning success, rather
than only logging a warning.
- Around line 896-900: Update the gated identity handling around
read_node_identity and _remember_identity so a stopped replacement or unreadable
identity does not overwrite the saved identity with None during a retry.
Preserve the original identity for comparison across retries, including mismatch
recovery, while retaining the existing behavior that a fresh redeploy over a
stopped node clears the record.
Review comments at @docs/guides/mysterium.md:
- Around line 240-247: Update the docker create command in the recovery
instructions to explicitly select the runc runtime, matching the catalog
configuration while preserving the existing network and restart options.
- Around line 267-269: Update the manual-node handoff guidance in the Mysterium
guide to explain that socket-proxy installations require removing the manually
created container before deploying a worker-owned node. Specify how to preserve
and reuse the node’s existing identity during this transition, using the
supported procedure rather than assuming dashboard redeployment transfers
ownership.
Review comments at @docs/isolation-check.md:

host where the node’s MYST chain is not visible.
Review comments at @docs/security-defaults.md:

policy and the explanation in this section. Keep the rest of the summary
unchanged.
Review comments at @UPGRADING.md:
- Around line 71-72: Update the “To go back” section to document that rollback
to v2.0.3 must restore host networking and the previous port configuration so
the host can reach the WebUI, while retaining the existing data volume.

…p a stop
Review round on the fenced Mysterium node:
- the guard stops gated nodes when the isolation mode can't be read, and
treats a node attached to a second network as off the fence
- the fence read refuses a cashpilot-isolated network recreated without
the interface name its rules match
- Stop is recorded under the guard's lock and fails if it can't be recorded,
so a guard pass can't start the node again behind it
- a deploy can't relabel the node out of the guard's sight, and a retry over
an unconfirmed replacement keeps the identity it has to match
- fence-gated services have no Compose export, which would run them unfenced
- messages name the service from the catalog; drift checks the UDP range and
claims NET_ADMIN only when the container has it; the container-down alert
no longer promises a restart policy for a fenced node
- docs: runc in the manual command, the manual node is not taken over by a
redeploy, the NAT check runs inside the node, a rollback to the previous
release removes and redeploys; releases through 2.0.6 still run the node on
the host network, so the references say 2.0.6

Problem
Mysterium was the one earner the LAN fence did not cover. It ran with
network_mode: hostandNET_ADMIN, so it heldNET_ADMINin the host's own network namespace. From there a compromised node, or a malicious image update, could rewrite the host's firewall (the fence included), add routes and addresses, bind any port on every host address, and reach the LAN, the tailnet, cloud metadata and every other container. Its only protection was its own--firewall.protected.networkslist, which the node itself controls. No host rule holds against a process that can rewrite the host's rules.Fix
The node moves off the host network into its own namespace on
cashpilot-isolated, the bridge every other earner already uses.NET_ADMINreaches only its own namespace. The fence matches on the bridge interface, so whatever the node does to its own tables, what it sends to the LAN, the host, a tailnet or metadata is dropped on the host. Kernel WireGuard and the node's own NAT keep working inside its namespace.UDP_PORTSis published 1:1 (udp_port_range, at most 1000 ports). The default is now 56000:56029: 30 ports carry about 15 sessions, and each published port costs about 2.5 MB in docker-proxy. It sits inside the old 56000:56100, so existing router forwards keep working, and a node with the old range on record keeps it.0.0.0.0inside its namespace. Port 4449 is published only on theUI_ADDRESShost addresses (ui_port), loopback by default. The Tequila API is never published.fence_gated. Docker gives it restart policyno. The fleet page shows any node the guard is holding stopped, and why.onmode or on the operator's own network (CASHPILOT_CONTAINER_NETWORK). Inoff, legacyand on Podman the node would sit on Docker's default bridge, where every other earner reaches its WebUI. There the deploy is refused before the running node is touched, with "Switch isolation on in Fleet, then redeploy MystNodes." (the catalog name on the dashboard card).NET_ADMINorSYS_ADMINthat uses host networking, lacks a@sha256:image, or is notfence_gated. The order is: switch isolation on in Fleet, then redeploy Mysterium once. The dashboard refuses to redeploy it onto a worker that lacks the new
fence_gatedfeature. The redeploy reuses the data volume or data folder, so the identity and earnings stay. Downtime is under a minute. Steps are in UPGRADING.md.Not done as planned, and why
allow_host_networkstaystruein the socket policy. The LAN fence's own helper and the isolation check's control probe run on host networking through the proxy. sockguard 2.4.6 cannot allow that for one image or label only. The worker refuses host networking to every catalog service, and the catalog refuses it toNET_ADMINservices. To flip it, the proxy would need a per-label rule, or the helper would have to stop going through the proxy.docs/isolation-check.mdshows the one-line probe from the node's own namespace, and the lab below ran it.Tests
