If you encounter the error “Failed to open an empty document” after initializing Halcogen.exe using winestaging, do: Reinstall XQuartz Uninstall Halcogen.exe using wine staging (wine uninstall.exe) Run “wine HALCoGen-04.07.01-installer.exe” in XQuartz and say yes to all the dependencies it wants to install (e.g. Wine Mono).
