In order to simplify installation, the project has been created to use Docker to install Drupal and the database. The following are the steps to be followed for installation
- Use the dockerfile at https://github.com/drsantam/prom/tree/main to create the docker image or use the drupal docker image available at the following gitlab URL: https://registry.gitlab.com/chavi/prom/prom:10.1 (for the Drupal version 10.1)
- The docker compose is available at https://github.com/drsantam/prom/tree/main Note that the docker compose file defines a external network called prom_network which allows the drupal container to communicate to the mysql database container. It also defines two docker volumes viz. promsite to hold the promsite data and promdb to persist the database. Note that the database is a mysql database. You can modify these names.
- Running docker compose will install the latest drupal version with all contributed modules.
- All contributed modules will be available under web > modules > contrib subdirectory.
- Ensure the .env file is present with the following environment variables during docker-compose up command:
- MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD
- MYSQL_DATABASE
- MYSQL_USER
- MYSQL_PASSWORD
- DRUPAL_DATABASE_USER
- DRUPAL_DATABASE_PASSWORD
- DRUPAL_DATABASE_NAME
- This will bring up the website on the port 8086 as defined in docker compose file. Note in CHAVI a reverse proxy is used to point the user typing the url prom.chavi.ai to the 8086 port. In case this is hosted in a different manner then alternative mechanisms of using a reverse proxy are also available.
- Please complete site installation by navigating to the URL - in this case prom.chavi.ai. Please note that the host name of the drupal database should be changed from localhost to prom_db in the advanced setting during the installation step. Rest of the values should match the environment variable. Complete the installation by creating an administrator account with relevant password, site name, site email address and choose to get updates on the available updates.
