FigCraft uses the reviewed egui 0.37, winit and craft-window revisions while preserving deferred saves, custom-editor IME, capture geometry and document/window ownership. This branch includes main through d4a303d, including workspace version 0.11.2, web size optimization and the macOS signing-keychain cleanup fix. External dependency versions and pins remain unchanged by this follow-up.
Screenshot encoding precedes a shared commit gate. The final file write checks cancellation and a fresh deadline while holding the same gate as the transport timeout, then queues its reply before releasing the gate. A timeout that loses to a completed write consumes that reply. Disconnection is reported separately.
The follow-up corrects stale 0.36 references and documents the pinned 0.37 fork accurately: native AccessKit remains root-window-only, and egui maps the Menu key but FigCraft has no binding for it yet. The screen-reader tab fallback remains. The local join-code regression now corrupts only checksum bits; its former random payload mutation could collide with the eight-bit checksum and intermittently accept the altered code. Production behavior and test assertions are unchanged.
Validation on this exact tree: required-font local CI passed with 3,306 passing test executions, zero failures and nine ignored across 71 summaries, including strict lint, WASM and all three plugin bundles. The corrected join-code test also passed separately. The preceding full run exposed the old randomized-test failure; independent review verified that changing only the final checksum symbol guarantees rejection. Independent reviews also checked the documentation claims against the pinned fork. Earlier regression validation exercised the real screenshot-arrival path against the old and corrected behavior, together with cancellation, deadline, exactly-once commit and transport tests.
Remaining gates: remote CI and CodeRabbit must qualify this commit. Current-source native GUI/browser workflows, native IME, paired performance, platform runtime and release installation remain open. Browser and Wayland hidden-paint behavior remain unqualified. A slow filesystem can delay timeout handling while an admitted write finishes; socket I/O stays outside the gate. Human review and human merge are required.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Text editing supports richer input-method composition, surrounding-text deletion, and selection-aware updates.
Screenshots requested for hidden or minimized windows can wait for a paint; requests expire after 60 seconds if capture cannot complete.
Improvements
Background tasks and supported control requests can continue while a window is hidden.
Right-to-left text follows logical text order, with improved shaping and display.
Font coverage includes Georgian, and app packages include notices and available font licence information.
Clipboard actions better distinguish app-copied content from newer system clipboard text.
Field saves remain associated with the document where editing began, even when switching documents.
Known Limitations
The Menu key does not open context menus; Shift+F10 remains available.
This pull request migrates the application to egui 0.37. It updates frame lifecycle, screenshot handling, IME, clipboard state, fonts, accessibility, packaging, and plugin build outputs.

The workspace updates egui-related pins and craft-font revisions. Font features, required web faces, RTL fallback fonts, and attributions are updated.
Frame lifecycle and control requests crates/ui-egui/src/{lib.rs,control.rs,windows.rs}, apps/figcraft/src/*, apps/figcraft-web/src/web.rs, docs/control-protocol.md
Background work is separated from viewport setup. Screenshot requests use capture slots, settling frames, deadlines, retries, and memory limits. Synthetic input is routed by viewport and acknowledged after presentation.
IME editing and clipboard handling crates/engine/src/*, crates/ui-egui/src/{shortcuts.rs,menus.rs,widgets.rs}, crates/ui-egui/src/*_tests.rs
Text editing adds session ownership, bounded surrounding text, commit classifications, and surrounding deletion. Clipboard operations track copied-layer generations and distinguish synthetic input from user actions.
UI compatibility and identity updates crates/ui-egui/src/*
The UI updates egui identifiers, widget roles, focus handling, interaction senses, alignment, and RTL text handling.
Packaging and plugin build outputs packaging/*, plugins/Cargo.toml, xtask/src/main.rs, docs/plugins.md
Installers include NOTICE and available craft-font licences. Plugin outputs use the configured Cargo target directory.

docs/hardware-parity.md still says that screenshots from minimised or covered windows “fail at once.” The current route admits screenshots with hidden or unknown visibility, requests a hidden paint, and expires them after 60 seconds. Update the feature row and add a current revision-history entry. Keep browser and Wayland behavior qualified.

ROADMAP.md:148 says hidden ui.screenshot and ui.input requests fail immediately. ROADMAP.md:372 says they wait for visibility. Treat unknown visibility as hidden for deferred input.
When platform visibility is unknown, hidden returns false. A ui.input request for the current window then enters the visible route without requesting a repaint. request_paint also skips RequestPaintWhileHidden, so the request can remain queued until the 60-second timeout.
Update the shared predicate so unknown visibility uses the existing deferred-input and hidden-paint paths.

minimal, and validate.

Update the shared hidden predicate used by the control routing and paint paths
so unknown visibility is treated as hidden, while explicitly visible windows
remain non-hidden. This routes deferred ui.input requests and hidden-paint
handling through their existing paths.

Route edit.copyLink through app.clipboard_set_text.
This direct service call bypasses the control_synthetic guard used by FigApp::clipboard_set_text. Synthetic UI input can therefore overwrite the system clipboard.

Update the edit.copyLink handler to call FigApp’s app.clipboard_set_text instead
of invoking app.services.clipboard_set_text directly, so the existing
control_synthetic guard is applied.

Review (storytold#1312 rewrote crates/text/build.rs): the family list is read in
main() and passed to input_fonts and craft_fonts the way embed_cjk is;
the families nothing embedded come from the catalog's faces, not from
searching the generated source; a fixture test covers the web catalog
with and without the list, native builds and that check; and
docs/releasing.md no longer says the release pin lacks Noto Sans Thai
(37827adc has it). The warning now also says when no craft-fonts
manifest was read.
